I can't believe how much my opinion on this filler changed just because of Barto being the ultimate fan while they were trapped in that maze

I thought it was hilarious when Avelon tried to run them over but Bartolomeo just used his barriers to steer the tracks and make him crash into the wall instead

It really bothered me how they had to nerf Luffy just to give the tram guy a chance but at least the comedy was on point

The Tram Human is such a ridiculous villain for a filler arc and him rolling around on tracks like a human train car was definitely a weird choice for a power

Avelon has to be one of the weakest villains ever because that rail fruit is basically useless when you are fighting someone like Luffy

I usually skip filler, but I’m actually glad I stuck around for this one because Bartolomeo and Desire have such good chemistry together, and seeing him use his barrier as a rail was a really smart way to use his power even if the villain felt pretty weak, so I really hope she ends up joining his crew at the end because she fits right in with them

Desire realizing that Bill probably lied about saving her crew makes the whole Silver Mine plot feel way more personal than your typical filler story

The maze chase felt like a classic adventure and Desire being Bartolomeo's old friend made the history between them feel more real

Luffy using his rubber body to bounce around while trapped in that metal sphere was pretty cool for me because he could still be dangerous even when he was completely stuck

Avelon has the weirdest devil fruit power ever and him turning his hands into wheels to chase Luffy through a tunnel was so stupidly funny

Bill is definitely a snake for making Desire think he saved her from that attack, and you can see her starting to catch on while he treats her like garbage in the mines. It makes the conflict feel a lot more grounded than just Luffy hitting a random guy and the stuff with Barto being her old boss adds a nice layer to it

Watching Luffy fight while stuck inside that giant silver ball was hilarious, and Avelon accidentally breaking him out of it before the episode ended was a great way to close the fight

Avelon's devil fruit powers are seriously making me scratch my head; how did this guy even get by with that? I swear, if Luffy ever truly went for it, these chumps wouldn't even survive two minutes on the Grand Line, and honestly, that just makes me laugh.

Luffy getting stuck in the silver for so long felt a bit forced and he should have been able to beat Bill and his crew in seconds

Desire is actually a great character for a filler episode and her dynamic with Bartolomeo is so funny to watch

The Rail-Rail fruit might be the most specific and useless power we have seen in a while, but the way Luffy handled that tram guy was satisfying to see

I think Bartolomeo using his barrier as a track for that cart was such a cool idea and it made this whole filler arc worth watching for me

Bartolomeo getting way too hyped about touching Luffy and his rubber belly is the funniest thing this arc has done so far

That rail rail devil fruit might be the most pointless power yet but the interactions between the characters kept me from getting bored of the maze setting

I really expected this filler to be a drag but watching Bartolomeo turn his barrier into a literal slide for the mine cart was actually so smart

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode sits squarely in the middle of the non-canon Silver Mine arc, following Luffy and Bartolomeo's capture and descent into the mine. The previous episode established their predicament; this one escalates the danger with underground battles and introduces deeper stakes through enslaved miners and new adversaries. It directly sets up the duo's continued push toward confronting Bill, the arc's central villain.
