Beginning of silly and fun filler episodes that tie into the two One Piece movies Heart of Gold and then Film: Gold. As someone who likes filler, I would say that this is pretty good, not my favorite filler episodes but still a good one.

The silver mine setting feels a bit recycled but Desire having a history with Bartolomeo adds a nice layer to the plot that makes her introduction stand out

Bill seems like a really generic villain but his smelt power is actually kind of cool even if his character design is a bit lazy for a movie tie in arc

Luffy following a meat trail right into a trap is the most Luffy thing ever and Bartolomeo losing his mind over being in a cage with his idol actually made me laugh

Bartolomeo is basically just a self insert for every one piece fan and you can tell he was having the time of his life just being kidnapped with Luffy

I think the Barto Club relying on Gambia's grandma for advice via snail phone is pure comedy because that canon gag really highlights the chaos of the crew

The new opening song is such a bop and seeing those tiny glimpses of the Kaido fight and Jack in the animation shows how much bigger the world is getting

The new theme song for the arc really got my blood pumping; I just know this next adventure is gonna be wild after all the heavy stuff in Dressrosa. Those quick animation previews gave me serious hype for what's coming, it feels like a whole new level for the Straw Hats!

Bill's metal fruit really got me thinking, especially how he just conjured up all those weapons. I mean, imagine if that ability was in the hands of a proper Warlord or an Emperor; the sheer destruction would be insane, and it makes his current use feel almost understated!

Bartolomeo crying while Luffy just stands there confused is the best dynamic, and I am glad they are spending more time together

It is obviously a filler arc but the Silver Mine stuff feels pretty fun so far, and I really enjoyed seeing how Bartolomeo reacts to every single thing Luffy does because he is such a massive fan while Bill also has a really interesting power with that Smelt-Smelt fruit that makes me wonder how he would hold up in a real fight

My stomach hurt from laughing when the Barto Club crew called Gambia's grandma for advice because those idiots have no idea how to sail and it made that phone call so hilarious

A new intro song is great and it gets you excited for the movie but the actual episode feels like a step down after everything that happened in Dressrosa

You can tell this is filler because Luffy gets stuck in a silver ball and it feels like he is holding back so much but the animation in the new opening showing those future silhouettes looks really crisp

Bill is such a boring villain and his power just seems like a random excuse to keep Luffy busy while the plot waits for the movie to come out and it makes you wish for canon stuff instead

I normally skip filler but watching Barto lose his mind around Luffy makes this one feel worth my time

Bartolomeo is basically me and his freakout over being on a ship with Luffy was the funniest thing ever

Woah, that hail storm just came out of nowhere at the beginning, I wasn't expecting it to be so intense! And man, seeing the Going Luffy Senpai in action, even for a brief moment before the silver mine stuff started, always makes me smile, it just feels so... Luffy.

Watching them arrive at the silver mine felt a bit slow, but it's cool to see a new devil fruit user even if it is just filler content

It was classic Luffy to follow his stomach and get kidnapped but it also felt kind of forced just to start the movie tie in

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 747 marks the beginning of the anime-original Silver Mine Arc, arriving immediately after the conclusion of the Dressrosa saga's aftermath episodes. It serves as a transitional filler arc, separating the massive Dressrosa storyline from the upcoming Zou Arc. The next episode, 'An Underground Maze! Luffy vs. the Tram Human!', deepens the arc's central conflict within the Silver Mine setting.
