I think the animation during that Shuzo fight looked so weird and Luffy looked like he was barely even trying to win

Robin snapping necks while Nami tries to keep the plan together is such a classic Straw Hat vibe, even if this is just a movie tie-in

Zoro fighting Momonga is absolutely crazy and watching them go all out would be amazing because a Vice Admiral is no joke for the crew right now

That Z cameo at the end was so cool and it makes you want to go watch the movie right now instead of waiting for this arc to finish

Luffy and Shuzo moving through the air looked so goofy and it is obvious the budget went somewhere else but at least Z finally made an appearance

You can tell the budget went elsewhere when you see how wonky the fighting looked in the air. Luffy usually handles these types of guys way easier than he did today

Geppou looked so unnatural the way they animated it, and it really felt like the crew was holding back just to make the filler villains look like an actual threat

You can tell this is just a setup for the movie since the animation takes a massive dive and the way characters move is just plain weird

Honestly the whole Neo Navy vibe is kind of dark with those kamikaze tactics and I liked seeing a bit more of Shuzo and his weird obsession with being Z's right hand man and seeing the man himself for a second got me interested in the movie, but this episode felt so dragged out and the animation for the big moves was just bad

Whoa, seeing Z just pop up like that at the very end totally caught me off guard, and now I'm seriously counting down the days until the movie! It instantly ramped up my excitement, making me wonder what kind of insane challenges the Straw Hats are gonna face against him.

I appreciated getting some actual backstory for Shuzo and his weird grudge about not being the right hand man since filler villains are usually just boring

When those Neo Navy soldiers just threw their lives away like it was nothing, my stomach actually dropped; I mean, what kind of leader makes their followers that fanatical? Z must be seriously next-level intense to command such extreme devotion, it's kinda chilling to think about.

The animation during those fights was honestly so wonky and it really distracted from what could have been a cool standoff between Zoro and Momonga

Zoro going up against Momonga was the only good part of the fight animation because everything else looked shaky and Luffy felt way too weak for no reason

When Shuzo and Momonga were giving Luffy and Zoro such a hard time, my jaw almost dropped because I seriously expected my guys to be a lot stronger right now. It just felt like they should've breezed through that fight after everything they've learned, you know?

Shuzo being so bitter about his spot in the Neo Marines actually gave him some personality and he really stood out during that three way battle

Nami really had to carry the whole crew with her weather knowledge because that escape plan almost failed immediately and they would have been stuck in that crossfire forever

I really liked seeing that Neo Navy guy Shuzo getting some backstory because it made him feel more like a real threat and not just another random filler villain that shows up for one fight

Zoro and Luffy side-by-side should be an instant win, right? I just can't wrap my head around them actually struggling with Shuzo after seeing them dominate on Fishman Island; it feels like they took a huge power dip or something for this fight, which is a bit frustrating.

Zoro and Sanji only caring about the sake when Lily mentioned it was such a predictable moment for those two idiots and it made me laugh

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode continues the filler Z's Ambition arc, building on the Straw Hats' encounter with Lily and the growing threat posed by the Neo Marines. It escalates the tension from the arc's earlier setup episodes, pushing toward the anticipated showdown between Luffy and Shuzo. The arc overall serves as a bridge leading into the One Piece Film: Z tie-in material.
