In the present, King Bradley sits with Roy Mustang, casually discussing his unnatural origins. Bradley reveals he was once human, chosen to lead, but now views his homunculus nature as superior. He dismisses human choice, declaring his pride in what he has become. Mustang listens, his expression grim, realizing the chilling extent of Bradley's conviction and the conspiracy at play.

Back inside Gluttony's stomach, Edward tends his wounds, explaining his chilling discovery to Ling Yao: the Xerxes mural was a giant human transmutation circle. He reveals that Xerxes was annihilated to create the first Philosopher's Stone, a horrifying blueprint for the homunculi's grander scheme in Amestris.
