Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Episode 16: Footsteps of a Comrade-in-Arms

The episode begins with the full cast, heroes and villains alike, gathered on a stage. It is a theatrical opening, a grand bow before the final act of parody. Edward Elric steps forward, announcing the last 'Fullmetal 4-Koma Theater' with his usual energy. This setup promises a series of familiar moments, reinterpreted for laughs.

In a direct parody of their ultimate confrontation, Father, a shadowy, multi-eyed figure, demands the 'human sacrifices' join him. Edward defiantly refuses. Father then shifts tactics, offering Edward height in exchange for his cooperation. Edward visibly vibrates with frustration, the bribe hitting his deepest insecurity.

Edward delivers an automail punch to Selim Bradley's face, revealing the tiny, true form of Pride. This miniature homunculus casually says "Hi" from Edward's hand, utterly unfazed. Edward's response is swift and brutal: he unceremoniously kicks the small creature away. The dramatic reveal of Pride’s weakness is reduced to a bothersome pest.

Newly blinded, Roy Mustang attempts to exploit his condition, loudly declaring his intention to 'accidentally grope' Lieutenant Hawkeye. As he reaches, Riza deftly moves, allowing Darius to take her place. Mustang, oblivious, then comments on the "firmness" of the lieutenant, while Hawkeye and Darius watch in silent horror and disgust. His lechery is met with deserved, if accidental, humiliation.

Van Hohenheim is found weeping dramatically at a grave, presumably for Trisha. Pinako Rockbell observes his performance with a flat expression. She then informs the "dumb old fool" that he is at the wrong grave entirely. Hohenheim freezes, his grief turning to profound embarrassment, his moment of gravitas shattered by his own incompetence.

With his body restored, Alphonse Elric consults a fashion catalog, much to the anticipation of Edward and Winry. He excitedly points to a page of medieval knight armor, complete with plumes, declaring it his summer choice. Edward and Winry are left with blank, dead-eyed stares. The narrator concludes that while Al's body is back, his mind still needs saving.
