the structural confidence of this episode is remarkable. it resolves its central arc without dragging a single moment, treats the audience as intelligent enough to follow without explanation, and lands its conclusion with real weight.

the animation quality here is genuinely incredible even compared to newer releases. the fluidity and the way scenes are composed is just beautiful work that holds up completely. this is my favorite episode so far by a mile tbh

i had to pause so many times because i was genuinely scared. the way light staged absolutely EVERYTHING while we could do nothing but watch helplessly is some of the most intense show i have experienced in a long time.

This episode stands out for its intense psychological tension and clever pacing. The mind games become more complex, showing how both sides are constantly trying to outthink each other. The dialogue is sharp and meaningful, revealing just enough.

Light Yagami solidifies himself as a true villain in this episode. We get to see the way he can easily manipulate anyone else for his own gain, with no remorse. Any bit of light (hah) that could have been in him has gone out for good by the end.

Worried about this big-brain girl over here. <3 Seeing Light become Kira right in front of our eyes was insane and his ability to monologue while also speaking as Light was impressive...and very creepy. Naomi's intelligence is one for the books and I'll miss her character :(

One vs Two. This episode is so good! This time Light has faced another obstacle as Raye Penber's fiancé know how to deal with Kira by using an alias and without Shinigami's eyes, Light needs another way in getting the real name.

Episode 7 of is pure psychological tension as Light Yagami manipulates Naomi Misora with chilling precision. Watching him gain her trust while secretly planning her fate is disturbing and brilliant at the same time. The ending leaves a haunting reminder of how far Light can go.

Naomi Misora is actually terrifyingly smart. Seeing Light genuinely sweat because she figured out the bus hijacking was a setup? Pure gold. His "I'm Kira" moment at the end was so cold it actually hurt to watch. He’s a monster.

L exposing his identity to Light so easily has been one of the boldest moves in the series so far. Light helping with the investigation while being Kira at the same time? The duality of this situation is unreal. Light is literally playing both sides classic.
