Meet a high school senior with zero prospects, which is honestly relatable enough on its own. Then he stumbles into Mato — an alternate dimension crawling with monsters called Shuuki — and gets rescued by Kyouka Uzen, captain of an all-female military unit. Her offer to save his life comes with a catch: she can enslave people to unlock their hidden power, and she wants him as her slave. The master-slave dynamic is exactly as loaded as it sounds, and the show leans into it without pretending otherwise. Here's what makes it more than just fan service with a plot attached: the power system is genuinely interesting. Mysterious fruits called Peaches grant abilities exclusively to women, which has flipped society into a matriarchy. Yuuki is one of the few men with any combat relevance, and only because Kyouka's ability channels through him. Each member of the Corps has a different Peach ability, and the fights — animated by Seven Arcs with real budget behind them — actually deliver. Kohta Yamamoto's soundtrack gives the action sequences weight they wouldn't have otherwise. It's a 12-episode TV series from 2024 based on a shounen manga, and it knows exactly what it is. If you liked the harem dynamics of High School DxD or Date A Live but wanted something with sharper action closer to Akame ga Kill, this hits that specific sweet spot. Don't expect subtlety, but do expect a good time.

j_k_c★★★☆☆VerifiedEP 12(Covers ch 41-44 of the manga) The studio changed the form of Kidoumaru, I liked the one in the manga since it looked cool. Kidoumaru's form in the anime looked like its a nightmare fuel, the running motion made me want to kill with fire. They omitted again some important parts and yes they also cut some scenes in the reward 😉. Tenka didn't mention of the upcoming meeting but instead showed the egg thing on the antagonist side, that's quite an odd decision from the director of the anime 🤔. Should you read the manga instead of watching the anime? The anime is worth the watch but I still prefer the manga since I have read it first and some parts got rushed in the anime.
