I just finished the Soul Society stuff and seeing these random dolls pop up in Ichigos room is so weird and I really do not care about these Bount guys yet

Skip this episode and save yourself the trouble because the Bounts are just annoying vampires and they totally ruin the momentum of the actual story

I am pretty sure that Quincy in the flashback was a young Soken and that was the only moment that actually felt like it mattered for the lore

Lirin and the other modified souls are so annoying and having them follow Ichigo around makes the whole show feel like a generic monster of the week thing

Renji beating some sense into Ichigo was the only decent part because seeing him mope around while Urahara talks about these soul hunters is such a drag

The mod souls staying in those plushie bodies is a bizarre move and it makes it hard to take the tension seriously when they are just sitting there

Hearing about how they hunt souls gave me some much needed context and finally gave a name to these weird new enemies

Rukia appearing out of nowhere to bail out Ichigo was the only thing that mattered and that Kido blast she used on Goethe looked so cool

It is kind of annoying that we are doing this Bount stuff instead of the main plot and even Rukia coming back can only carry the episode so far

I know people hate filler, but seeing that young Quincy in the flashback made me wonder if that was actually Soken and how he fits into this whole Bount situation

Ichigo was getting cooked until Ririn told him to actually use his brain and analyze how Goethe moves instead of just swinging his sword like a maniac

Urahara explaining the history of these guys makes the threat feel more real than just a random monster attack and the tension was heavy during that scene

Seeing the mod souls get stuck in those stuffed animal bodies is such a weird choice but Noba looks kind of funny in that green turtle thing

I legit yelled when Rukia showed up and saved Ichigo from Goethe because it felt like she was gone forever

chad and noba just staring at each other in silence while kon rants about it was so funny and it fits chad personality so well

actual story beats with the bounts are already boring to watch so those soul reaper cup outtakes at the end were a total lifesaver

Urahara explaining how the Bounts work was interesting, but they still feel like such a massive step down from the threats we saw in the Soul Society arc.

I know everyone says to skip the Bount arc but seeing Rukia back on screen wearing that dress Uryu made for her was such a nice touch for the fans. Ichigo struggling against Goethe felt a bit weird after he just took on captains but Ririn giving him advice to actually think for once was a good little moment for her character.

this transition into the bount arc feels so forced after everything that happened with aizen and the pacing is already starting to drag before the real action even starts

my brain went straight to soken ishida when urahara was talking about the quincy history and seeing that young face in the flashback made me wonder if that was actually uryu grandfather

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off Episode 68's Mod-Soul reveal, this episode pivots fully into the anime-original Bount arc, a lengthy filler stretch that sits between the Soul Society and Arrancar arcs. It functions as a foundation episode, introducing the central antagonists and assembling the team that will drive the upcoming conflicts. For viewers tracking canon material, this marks the beginning of a significant detour before the story returns to manga-based content.
