Ichigo showing up right at the end to stop Kariya from finishing them off was such a classic move and his timing was absolutely perfect for that situation

I still think it was a massive mistake for Ishida to save Ran'Tao instead of finishing Kariya when he had the opening and it made the whole fight feel pointless at the end

Ishida really felt like the main character for once and he was actually holding his own against Kariya with those Quincy arrows and high speed movement and everything else

Ishida was looking so cool against Yoshi and the writing just went and ruined it with that decision to shoot the sky instead of Kariya

kariya should have been finished right there but the writers needed to stretch this out for more episodes and it is so obvious that it hurts the story and ishida just looks incompetent now for aiming at the sky and rantao sacrificed everything just for him to throw the chance away and it makes the whole battle feel completely pointless

this episode is the perfect example of why everyone tells you to skip the bount arc and just read the manga instead

ishida is usually the smart one of the group so seeing him act this stupid just to keep the villain alive made me want to turn the screen off

watching this filler just makes me want to skip straight to the arrancar arc because the logic in these fights is non existent

I am so done with this Bount stuff, because watching Uryu waste his strongest attack on the clouds was physically painful to see

It makes no sense for a Quincy to miss that shot on purpose, especially when the stakes are supposed to be this high

rantao is an interesting character but she deserves better than being stuck in a filler plot that makes no sense

i actually cannot believe ishida let kariya go after rantao did all that work to hold him down for a clear shot

the bount arc is just dragging on forever and this episode proves why filler is usually a waste of time

why did ishida just shoot the sky when he had kariya right there and he could have ended the whole arc right then

The whole buildup to Uryu making his big decision was actually pretty good until he decided to aim for the atmosphere instead of the guy trying to kill everyone. It was hard to like this episode because that one moment just ruined the momentum and now there is just the wait for Ichigo to finish this big fight against Kariya

I am definitely skipping the rest of this bount stuff after that sky shot. It made no sense for Uryu to let Kariya off the hook like that

Kariya is such a frustrating villain because he always seems to get away by luck, especially when Ishida misses that shot on purpose, which makes no sense

Uryu shooting the sky is honestly one of the dumbest filler moments in this whole arc. That whole buildup with the bow just felt like a total waste

Ichigo arriving just in time to save Rantao and Uryu was such a massive relief. The tension between Kariya and Rantao was getting way too heavy

My head hurts from watching Uryu throw away that opening against Kariya. I really expected more from the ultimate choice that the title promised

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 106 falls within the anime-original Bount arc, a filler stretch that follows the conclusion of the Soul Society saga. The previous episodes have seen Kariya's plans intensify, and this installment provides crucial character motivation and backstory — particularly for Ishida — that bridges the escalating tension toward the arc's climactic confrontations ahead.
