my favorite part was when they started connecting the spear of longinus to the murders because i love when this show leans into the weird mythology

it feels like a lot of the original tension is lost in the recap, but the new scenes with the detective team adding context to the supernatural deaths were okay

the mystery of the carbonized bodies is getting way more intense and the occult symbols they keep finding actually look detailed and scary

i think the recap style makes the pacing feel a bit rushed but seeing imari back with the tokken team was the highlight for me

that dark magic stuff in the school basement is actually pretty creepy and the way the shadows moved during the ritual scenes felt genuinely unsettling

The reunion with Imari as a detective really works for the sequel, and seeing her find Aki for that Scarlet Woman ritual was just as twisted as the original show and you get caught off guard when Jody Crowley and Takashiro jump in to mess everything up because the tension during the Spear of Longinus ceremony was already through the roof

expanding on the spear lore worked so well for me and finding out aki is the scarlet woman made the ceremony feel much more dangerous

takashiro showing up to interfere with the ritual was a total shock and it totally changed the direction of the whole episode

I really struggled with the pacing of the investigation, and it felt like Imari was just wandering around until the cult stuff finally kicked in

aki being the scarlet woman was a bit predictable but the actual ceremony with the lance of longinus was intense and messy
tifa_lockhart_400's avatar

the visual style of the ceremony felt so old school and gritty and seeing the lance of longinus in action made the whole scene feel real

those carbonized bodies at the start are still haunting to look at because that is such a brutal way to go out and it sets the tone perfectly

the gritty atmosphere is still there and seeing imari back as a detective makes the whole spear ritual feel even more twisted

chochin_obake_90
the scene where jody and takashiro show up and ruin the whole ceremony was such a curveball and you really do not expect them to crash the party like that

it feels weird seeing imari as a detective now but it hit me hard when the spear of longinus came into play during that ritual

I feel like the animation during the magic battle really surprised me because the quality was way higher than expected and the way the spells looked made the ritual feel heavy

That ritual Imari performed was actually pretty disturbing with how the religious imagery got twisted and it makes the whole cult investigation feel much more dangerous

Seeing those burned bodies at the crime scenes really sets a grim tone and you can tell the mystery with the Spear of Longinus is going to get even messier

I think the magical duel between Kitami and Takashiro is better than most actual shonen fights and seeing the black magic clash like that kept me glued to the fight

Imari using that Lance of Longinus for a ritual is some dark stuff even for this series and the way the occult elements are handled makes the horror feel way more real

EPISODE CONTEXT

Following Revival's establishment of the occult framework and key character reintroductions, Reunion sharpens the focus on Reika Kitami's lingering influence and the calculated machinations of Jody Crowley. Positioned at episode two of six, this is the series deepening its foundation before the midpoint escalation. It feeds directly into Rule, where questions of control and power dynamics are pushed to the forefront.
