This show really takes the horror seriously and the mystery of the carbonized bodies makes the investigation feel like a proper detective thriller with a twisted supernatural edge

I really liked the mention of the ceremony and the broken seal because it makes the supernatural elements feel much bigger than just a few isolated crimes in the city

The way those male victims were burned to a crisp while the women stayed fine is creepy and it sets a much darker tone for this investigation into the cult

Imari being part of Tokken now feels like a natural progression and her focus on the Spear of Longinus mystery brings back all that dark occult dread from before

I saw those carbonized bodies and it was so unsettling and the way they were found during the act made the occult atmosphere feel way more dangerous than the original series

following up on the events of walpurgis night after all these years is a bold move but the way they introduced the tokken team works for this setting

Seeing the way the cult operates behind the scenes is creepy, and the specific way the victims were left makes me wonder what kind of ritual they are actually trying to pull off this time.

the animation felt a bit stiff during the dialogue scenes and the pacing was way too slow for a first episode trying to set up a new murder mystery and it just didn't grab me like the old ones

i was mostly just glad to see the dark atmosphere return because the original bible black had such a specific grim feeling and this feels like it belongs in that world

the way the metropolitan murders are framed is so dark and unsettling and the contrast between the intimate scenes and the sudden carbonization is actually pretty effective horror

It was wild seeing the aftermath of those murders, because I didn't expect the occult stuff to get this graphic right away. I missed Imari a lot, and having her lead the investigation gives me hope that the story will actually connect back to the original Walpurgis Night lore instead of just being a random spinoff. The spear of longinus mystery has my attention.

adding a detective team like tokken makes the whole thing feel more like a crime thriller than just a standard sequel and it keeps the pacing moving pretty fast

hearing them mention the spear of longinus brings back all that crazy occult stuff from the first show and i am here for the supernatural mystery vibes

my head is spinning seeing imari back after so long and she looks exactly how i remembered her from the original series even if the art style changed a bit

those carbonized bodies were absolutely disgusting and seeing the guys burned like that while the girls were fine is such a weird dark twist even for this franchise

Most of the new characters don't really stand out yet and it feels like they are just retreading the same dark magic tropes from the first one without adding much new stuff

It felt weird seeing Imari in a suit instead of a school uniform, but I think the detective angle works for a sequel and the whole mystery about the Spear of Longinus got me interested. The scene with the carbonized bodies was actually pretty disturbing for this kind of show, and I want to see how the cult fits into the old lore.

Those carbonized bodies were definitely gross but the pacing felt a bit slow compared to how the original series started

The way they tied the murders back to the old magic was cool and I think the spear of longinus part means things are going to get even messier than before

Imari being a detective now is such a cool skip forward and seeing her deal with those burnt bodies was super creepy

EPISODE CONTEXT

As Episode 1 of 6, 'Revival' carries the full weight of reintroduction — there is no preceding episode to lean on, so the series builds its world from the ground up here. Central figures like Kaori Saeki and Kurumi Imari are positioned as the twin axes around which the season's occult conflict will rotate. The next episode, 'Reunion,' directly inherits the consequences set in motion here, making 'Revival' essential connective tissue for everything that follows.
