The prince has such a tragic background and it almost makes you forget that he basically kidnapped a high schooler to bear his kids but the prophecy really puts him in a tough spot

I could not believe they just left the garden scene like that and it makes me wish I was watching the premium version instead because the cuts are getting really obvious and annoying

Making a deal to stay for a month and then go home is a smart move for Kouichi and it at least sets some ground rules for how Caius needs to act

moryo_mystic_97
learning about the prophecy actually makes caius less of a creep, though the short runtime still makes every scene feel like a chaotic experience

That garden scene was a lot to take in and seeing those other titans just going at it in public while Kouichi was dying of embarrassment was such a massive culture shock

I felt for Caius after hearing about that prophecy and it explains why he went to such extremes to find a bride outside his world even if summoning someone like that is pretty messed up

miko_iino_163
I am still trying to process how we went from a deep talk about why caius can only marry people from other worlds to koichi getting poisoned and a wolf man licking him to save his life and this show is so short that you barely have time to breathe before the credits roll but the plot is moving so fast

the giant prince getting all protective after the poisoning really shows how serious he is about the whole fated bride thing

i actually yelled when baro licked koichi to cure the poison because that was not the medicine i expected him to get
buruburu_blade's avatar
buruburu_blade
it is crazy how much plot they cram into five minutes and seeing the wolf guy baro use his saliva as medicine was definitely unexpected

koichi trying to handle the culture shock of giants is funny until you realize he is basically trapped in another world for a marriage prophecy

caius apologizing for the public stuff was actually kind of sweet, but then the poisoning happened and everything went off the rails so fast
kenpachi_killer_104's avatar
kenpachi_killer_104
the prophecy about caius not being able to marry his own kind explains so much about why he is being so clingy with koichi

that wolf character baro showing up to solve the poison problem was such a strange turn for this show

I really did not see that poisoning coming and the way Caius looked at Koichi made me feel so bad for him

Kouichi trying to set boundaries with that one month deal was a smart move and it makes the dynamic way more interesting to watch now

Six minutes is just not enough time to get through all this and the pacing feels like it is on fast forward so I hope they slow down soon

Seeing why Caius had to summon someone from another world changed my whole perspective on him because that prophecy is heavy, and I actually like the deal they made for Kouichi to stay for a month. It feels like a much better way to handle their relationship and it was funny seeing the titan culture being so open about everything
mumen_rider's avatar
mumen_rider
The titans having zero shame about public stuff is actually hilarious and poor Kouichi looks like he wants to melt into the floor every time Caius touches him

I really felt for Caius after seeing that prophecy stuff and now his obsession makes way more sense since he basically had no other choice to save his people

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming directly off the dimensional-summoning cold open of Episode 1, this episode functions as the essential 'why' behind everything Caius set in motion — the prophecy driving his choices finally gets its due attention. At Episode 2 of 9, this is foundational setup work, laying the relationship groundwork that Episode 3, 'A Titan's Desire,' will then escalate into more overtly physical territory.
