I was definitely taken aback by how forceful Caius was right from the start and it made for a really uncomfortable first impression of him as a character. The show is basically just smut with a tiny bit of fantasy plot and the short runtime makes everything feel so rushed and chaotic. I might check out the manga to see if he gets better

It is way better than most older stories where the lead just gives in immediately and I appreciate that the king apologized for his behavior
