This show is so meta, it breaks the 4th wall like Gintama referencing other anime or shows, and Tokiyuki is like Luffy in Gear 5th having fun during a fight.

Amazing fight choreography with bold animation & colors. The band has come together to support Tokiyuki with his first steps to revenge.Good balance of Yorishige’s silliness, it doesn’t feel out of place or too much.

Holy crap, we already get some early character development. I think I’m starting to grasp the plot beyond the historical setting. The art style also gives me a nice classic 90s vibe. Seeing Tokiyuki’s natural ability this early was really exciting.

This episode felt a bit slower, but the introductionwas cool. The animation during the chase scenes remains top-tier, making Tokiyuki’s dodging look like a dance.

The animation really did not disappoint. The stylistic choice of art at some part to bring out the atmosphere really did work well. And seeing the second episode, it seeme this anime will bring lots of comedic elements to a serious revenge plot. It's fun and a feast for the eyes.

In this episode, we see the emotional rollercoaster that Tokiyuki-sama is going through and his desire to make a change by training his martial arts skills to become stronger. It’s a very enjoyable episode that still balances humorous scenes with serious moments.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the explosive coup that destroyed Tokiyuki's clan in Episode 1, this second episode pivots to the psychological aftermath—testing whether Tokiyuki can trust anyone after such devastating betrayal. The introduction of new allies Kojiro and Ayako begins the process of assembling the core group that will define much of the season's journey. It's a critical early bridge episode, transitioning from tragedy into the survival-and-alliance phase that the remaining ten episodes will build upon.
