My heart actually ached when Rena overheard him being such a jerk because she clearly cares more than he realized. I was not expecting her to be the one to ask for a kiss while she was crying and it made the whole office encounter feel much more meaningful than just a random hookup during their overtime shift.

That transition from the sad apology to the full on intimacy on the desk was pretty fast but it worked because of how Rena finally let her guard down and showed her true feelings

Watching Ryohei try to fix things after he messed up was decent but Rena being so vulnerable and crying really sold the emotional side of this episode and that desk scene was definitely a lot

Rena asking for that kiss even while crying was actually kind of intense and seeing them get so bold in the office while they were supposed to be working overtime was a huge step

I felt so bad when Rena heard Ryohei talking trash about her and those tears broke my heart but that office scene made up for everything and the animation looked way better than I expected for a short

It is so frustrating seeing the department head treat Rena like some kind of prize to be won, and Ryouhei going along with it at first was super trashy behavior.

The contrast between her office look and her night look is the best part of this whole episode and you can see Ryouhei losing his mind over it every single time

That moment when she finally opened up and started speaking her mind made her so much more attractive than just being the shy girl in the corner

Ryouhei needs to stop listening to his boss and just tell Rena how he feels instead of acting like a tough guy because it is clearly eating him alive while he sits at his desk

The way their encounters are becoming more frequent makes the whole dynamic at work feel way more tense. I really hated when Ryouhei tried to act all indifferent in front of his boss after they already had that night together. It feels like he is going to mess up a good thing just to save face at the office. Rena deserves way better than being a talking point for the department head.

Rena is way too good for that office environment and you can tell she is starting to trust him more every time they meet up outside of work hours

I still cant get over how different Rena looks with her hair down and she was so much more confident this time around compared to how she acts at the office with those glasses on

The transition from the messy office clerk to the stunning girl at the bar was done so well and you can really see why he stopped caring about the bet with his department head

I loved seeing Rena talk so much more freely during their drinks because it shows how much she was holding back at that desk and Ryouhei is actually falling for her
piko_pixel's avatar

The boss is actually the worst for making Ryouhei dig into her personal life like that and the way Ryouhei tries to play it cool afterwards makes him look like a total jerk

i think rena looking so different when she lets her hair down and speaks her mind is great because it makes the whole transformation trope actually work and her voice is perfect
luna_375's avatar
luna_375
it is wild how much better this is than the typical short show, and rena finally admitting her feelings really changed everything between her and ryouhei in a way that feels real even if it is a bit fast because the episodes are so short, and there is hope that jerk boss doesn't ruin the progress they made this time around
nia_teppelin's avatar
nia_teppelin
the department head is so annoying and everyone just wants them to ignore him and stay in their own world because rena deserves way better than being a bet for some creep
kyogre_307's avatar
kyogre_307
i really felt for rena when she was talking about why she stayed so quiet at work and seeing her open up to ryouhei like that makes the romance feel way more real
cwunched's avatar

ryouhei actually stood up for himself after rena talked about her feelings and it makes the office drama worth watching because the animation for the spice was better than last week

EPISODE CONTEXT

Three episodes of careful groundwork between Rena and Ryouhei have steadily eroded the boundaries of their collegial dynamic, and Episode 4 lands at the season's turning point where that foundation begins to pay off. What earlier episodes framed as possibility, this episode starts to confirm. With four episodes still remaining, it functions as the hinge of the narrative — closing out the tentative early phase and opening the door to more direct, consequential developments in the second half.
