The way Rena carries herself in that blue swimsuit is a huge jump from her shy clerk persona and Ryohei had the exact reaction you would expect

I really like how Rena gets so much more confident and expressive once she is away from the workplace and seeing her in a swimsuit was such a contrast to the messy hair look she usually has going on during the day, Ryohei is clearly losing his mind over her and the visuals for this short were pretty impressive for the runtime which made seeing her at the pool feel worth it

It is funny how much Rena changes when she is out of the office and the swimsuit scene really makes that transformation feel so much more obvious

The animation for the water and the suit looks surprisingly good for a four minute short and Rena is definitely pulling off that blue look

I think seeing Rena in that swimsuit was way better than her office outfit and it really shows why Ryohei is so into her now

They really went through it this time and that final scene where they promised to stay together felt like they finally moved past all the lies

The way Rena just went for it in the car after he got injured was a major shift and she was way more bold than she usually is

I felt so bad for Rena when she was crying about the other girl being Hachiya's type and she really went through a lot this episode
cremia's avatar

It was a really messy episode because Hachiya was being such a jerk after the breakup and that whole forced vibe was hard to watch, but Rena stepping up at the beach changed everything. Seeing her finally be assertive in the car was the highlight because it felt like she was actually taking ownership of their relationship for once today.

That fight they had really sucked and it was a mess but they actually decided to stick together no matter what and it felt good to see them make up

The beach trip started out kind of rough but Rena staying behind to look after him after he got hurt was sweet and it led to that car scene

That breakup scene felt pretty heavy, especially with Rena crying over Hachiya saying he liked that other girl more than her.

I did not expect things to get that dark between them and my heart sank when he told her he could do whatever he wanted after they broke up

Rena taking control in the back of the car was a huge surprise and it was cool to see her stop being so shy and just go for what she wanted

I thought Hachiya was acting like a total jerk with that last time demand and the condom lie really made me mad at him for a minute there

Rena looked so different at the pool compared to her usual messy office look and the animation for the water was surprisingly decent for such a short episode. I really enjoyed how Ryouhei just couldn't look away from her and it feels like their relationship is moving way faster than I expected which is great for a three minute show

Why is the department head still being such a creep and it makes me want Ryouhei to just stay at the pool with Rena forever

That poolside scene felt really short but seeing her hair down and wet changed her whole vibe from the first episode

Rena looking so confident in the water makes the office scenes feel like a totally different show to me

Rena in that swimsuit was something else and Ryouhei looked completely stunned by the change from her office look

EPISODE CONTEXT

At the three-of-eight mark, this episode represents the first true test of whether the foundation laid in Episodes 1 and 2 can sustain emotional momentum. Rena and Ryouhei's relationship has moved past its initial setup, and Episode 3 begins deepening the stakes between them. What unfolds here is likely to define the tonal direction for the back half of the season.
