I feel like the plot is moving a bit slow for a 13 episode show. This is not bad per se, and I really like that the show is taking its time on characters, but I also understand if some people dislike this. We do get a great progress after what Monica had found in this episode, but I think the main focus is still on Monica's character. We get scenes like when Monica having to force herself to speak up, or even at the end with her and Cyril. Of course, I also like how we get bits and pieces of Monica's past and not an entire section of flashback, weaving it into the story as we go.

A new mystery a foot! Monica is a social disaster but so cute. There is romantic undertones in the series but I'm wagering my doubloons on Cyril.

The way they balance high-stakes tension with quiet comedy is a chef's kiss. The writing makes a massive misunderstanding feel incredibly urgent, pushing the pace without losing that cozy slice-of-life charm. Plus, the pristine academy visuals make the setting pop.

Monica carries out her duties well despite doubting her abilities. It's impressive to see her perform so brilliantly while also dealing with the clichéd antics of arrogant nobles at the academy, especially given the trauma she has endured in the past. There are also some intriguing scenes that feel foreboding while still piquing my interest. The art quality remains consistently impressive, much like Monica herself who continues to be adorable😊

P.S. It's heartwarming to see Monica have someone like Colette, a gentle and kind friend by her side.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off Episode 2's establishment of Monica's undercover infiltration at Serendia Academy, this third episode deepens her entanglement with the student council and the protective mission surrounding Prince Felix. It serves as a crucial foundation-building chapter early in the 13-episode run, introducing key interpersonal dynamics and mounting suspicions that will clearly escalate in subsequent episodes. With roughly a quarter of the season ahead, the groundwork laid here positions Monica's social and emotional growth as central to the series' trajectory.
