A massive, reptilian monster, seemingly defeated, stirs and roars, its form regenerating with menacing speed. Jougamine's eyes widen in shock, then narrow into fierce determination. Despite the obvious danger, she yells, "You disgusting monster! You will not lay a finger on my master!" She charges headlong, sword raised, her commitment to Yaruo absolute. Her bravery is striking, a defiant flash against the escalating threat.

Yaruo's narration follows Jougamine's assault, noting her fearless, if somewhat clumsy, approach. She strikes the monster's shoulder, creating a flash of light. Indo then appears, stabbing the beast's arm with her knives, causing electrical surges and orange goo. Seira delivers the final blow, slicing the monster in half with expert precision. Their combined efforts are effective, a testament to their brutal, synchronised training.

The monster, though cleaved, still twitches and roars, its parts menacingly alive. Yaruo surveys the scene, a grim satisfaction on his face. He believes they can handle two such creatures each, but his own condition is dire. A close-up of his leg reveals glowing red lines, a symbol of severe damage. He confesses his left arm is compromised, planning to use it as bait, a grim sacrifice for a tactical advantage.

A new monster attacks, its claws glowing red. Jougamine, terrified, blocks the blow, her shield cracking under the immense force. She is thrown back, landing hard, blood splattering from her head. Yaruo watches, shocked, then yells in frustration, "I told you not to bother!" Yet, a bloodied Jougamine, smiling weakly, insists, "If something happened to Master, I wouldn't know my purpose." Her devotion is absolute, even in pain.

Yaruo sits amongst the defeated monsters, contemplating Jougamine's unwavering spirit. He wonders why her actions provoke such anger in him. He realizes she embodies the ideal hero he once aspired to be: merciful, forgiving, one who harms no one. A flashback shows a younger Yaruo amidst armed men, yearning for this impossible ideal. He wanted to be that hero, but the memory shifts to a blood-soaked floor and dead bodies, a testament to his failure. "I cannot do it," he admits, haunted by his past violence.

As Indo fells another monster, new figures emerge from the balconies. A man in a top hat, Debby, and a blue-skinned man observe the carnage with detached amusement. "What a mess," Debby comments, hinting at a deeper game. Two women in purple robes also watch, giggling at the blue-skinned man's annoyance. These new characters arrive with an air of casual cruelty, viewing the heroes' struggle as mere entertainment.

Despite the mounting odds, Jougamine, still bloody, tells Yaruo they will all return together. "A hero is hope," she declares, her words igniting something in Yaruo. He realises there is a way through, a gamble, 'hope' itself. He produces the E-3 device, a tool he knows will heal him, but at a terrible price. Continuous use, he explains, risks "Aether contamination," turning a person into a 'madman' with only a 60% chance of returning whole. It is a desperate choice, born of inspiration and grim necessity.

Yaruo injects himself with E-3, gambling his sanity, just as a masked figure, later identified as Debby, does the same. More monsters regenerate, overwhelming the team. Debby then taunts Yaruo, asking about Ishino, "that creepy guy with glasses." He boasts of injuring Ishino, revealing a monstrous, purple claw where his hand should be. "Isn't it terrible?" Debby smirks, confessing he stabbed Ishino ten times for annoyance, delighting in his victim's stoicism. Yaruo's face contorts with visible anger, the personal connection clear.

Fueled by his rage, Yaruo orders Jougamine to advance, not letting Debby hold the high ground. He charges Debby, but is swiftly kicked down the stairs. Jougamine retaliates, her sword clashing, but she too is easily repelled. Debby mocks their efforts, clearly superior in skill. As Yaruo struggles to rise, injured and outmatched, the glow of the E-3 device pulses on his wrist. The situation is dire, demanding another desperate act.

With a grim resolve, Yaruo activates the E-3 device again, injecting himself. His body regenerates instantly, shocking Debby. "E-3 again?!" Debby shouts, surprise replacing his smugness. "Want to play?" Yaruo challenges, a confident smile now on his face. Their swords clash, and Yaruo, with a newly regenerated leg, delivers a powerful kick, sending Debby flying. The gamble has paid off, for now, but the cost to Yaruo's mind remains unknown.

Debby lands hard, spitting blood, his face distorted in pain and rage. Yaruo stands over him, eyes glowing red, a fierce, almost monstrous, aura radiating. "Come on, let's continue," he challenges, raising his sword. Debby's face contorts in pure terror as Yaruo brings the blade down, severing his monster hand. "Weak," Yaruo sneers, before impaling Debby and declaring, "It's over." The victory is complete, but carries a chilling, savage edge.

After the main battle concludes, a chilling post-credit sequence features Yaruo's voice narrating Ishino's supposed thoughts on revenge. "Dead humans don't seek revenge," Yaruo states, then swiftly dismisses the notion. He insists Ishino would demand vengeance, a brutal, horrifying retribution. "Make them suffer every conceivable tragedy, and record their screams of agony." The words are spoken over Ishino's dark, smiling face, then Yaruo's own terrifying grin. This ending reveals a sinister understanding between them, a dark pact.
