this episode is a slow burn that finally starts giving answers. the pacing is deliberate, heavy on flashbacks and emotional weight. tenma's arrival feels convenient but the emotional payoff lands. the show's still gripping, still beautiful. worth the watch.

a dark and intense episode episode 5 turned out to be.
character lore and the fact that international robot laws can be twisted by something as near to it's creator, this one should be watched with no interruption as some questions are answered but not fully.

This episode focuses on what could happen if an AI becomes even more intelligent than humans. The way this concept is presented feels intense and frightening. It is extraordinary how clearly the writing and script explain what such intelligence could lead to.

The episode’s tension comes not from action, but from the dread of realizing something is fundamentally wrong with the system itself. Plot thickens! As the protagonist itself/himself is mainly involve with killings.

Watching Gesicht struggles to keep it together is painful as his internal conflict catches up with him. That bag dropped like a bomb, making his tragic choices make sense. The manga-style prologue getting real is such a vibe, btw.

This episode is almost entirely focused on Gesicht. We also slowly begin to uncover Pluto here. The story remains consistently good and still very interesting. I also noticed that there’s some 3D animation included, it’s really well made and well executed.

This episode is a MASTERPIECE. Gesicht's memory reveal recontextualizes everything. The question of whether robots can feel hate, and whether that makes them more human or less, is handled with PEAK philosophical depth.

This episode give me "feels bad" emotion as everything seemsly turn personal, we going back to theme where is it okay if robot have emotion, feeling and moral. The dilemma between protecting human and having self identity is heavy in this one. Can't wait to finish this series ><.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned at the midpoint of this eight-episode series, Episode 5 functions as a critical bridge—Episode 4 explored robot empathy through Ochanomizu's compassion, and now the lens turns inward on Gesicht's buried history and the growing anxiety among the world's most powerful robots. This is where Pluto transitions from establishing its mystery to deepening its emotional and thematic stakes. The groundwork laid here directly fuels the escalating tension and major revelations that define the final three episodes.
