Kanetatsu leads the trio into the Uesugi mausoleum, a place thick with ancient power and secrets. He unfurls the legend of the Obsidian Goddess, the first wielder of Kitetsuto, whose spirit now seeks a human vessel. The revelation that Musashi is this vessel, capable of uniting all Toki, leaves him stunned, gazing at his hands in disbelief. A brief, ethereal vision of the goddess herself confirms the extraordinary power now residing within him.

Before a golden dragon statue, Kanetatsu explains the Uesugi Band's desperate situation; their lord captured, their Toki links blocked by the enemy. He admits his plea for Musashi's help is born of necessity, not generosity. The threat expands as Kanetatsu details the Obsidian Eight, traitors who have haunted bushi for a century, mastering their own techniques for evil. Musashi now understands this is more than a monster hunt; it is a war on two fronts against both Oni and corrupt human enemies.

Her objective is clear: kill the Yamata no Orochi, rescue Lord Tatsuomi Uesugi, and eliminate the Obsidian Eight. The initial wave consists of thousands of White Robe soldiers, a desperate sacrifice against overwhelming odds. She reveals the terrifying three-day deadline before the Orochi permanently sunders Hinomoto, emphasizing the urgency of their precarious situation.

Musashi finds himself among the lower ranks, connecting with his assigned squad members, surprising them with his genuine interest. He acknowledges the troubling disappearance of the Saruwatari and Shimazu squads, a sign of the deeper instability within the army. Instead of despair, Musashi inspires unity, telling his new comrades that their collective strength can bridge any gap. Inside the command tent, Naotora Takeda openly challenges Kuroko's strategy, calling it suicidal and threatening to withdraw his forces if she does not prioritize the rescue of Lord Uesugi. Their contentious exchange is not private; Seiroku Inukawa of the Obsidian Eight watches, a smug expression on his face. He observes the Uesugi's internal discord through a spy stone, savoring the advantage gained from their disunity. This internal conflict gives the enemy an early, critical victory.

Seiroku convenes with his fellow Obsidian Eight members, Shirou and Yataro, their conversation dripping with contempt for the Uesugi forces. They boast of their successful infiltration of bushi ranks. Yataro endures the cruel taunts of his brothers, his submissive nature contrasting sharply with their arrogance. Seiroku reclaims the mission to capture the Obsidian Goddess vessel for himself, his authority unchallenged and absolute.

The Uesugi fleet sails under the cover of night, a fragile hope against the monstrous Yamata no Orochi that erupts from the sea. The beast, immense and terrifying, dwarfs their ships. Kuroko, unyielding, orders the first wave to engage. Amidst the chaos, she orchestrates a strategic diversion, setting the sea ablaze to blind the Orochi and its handlers. Under this fiery cover, Musashi leads a small, elite unit into the Yura mine, their objective to cut off the monster's vital supplies. Seiroku, observing from afar, realizes Kuroko's true, cunning objective.

Musashi's infiltration unit is ambushed at the mine entrance by a bushi loyal to Seiroku, who employs a devastating Toki-blocking technique. Just as defeat seems certain, a new force arrives: Akihiro Shimazu and his brothers. They execute the 'Twelve Stars' technique, a coordinated display of power that easily repels the enemy, their blue Toki intertwining to form an impenetrable defense. Musashi watches, awestruck by this level of synchronized combat, a testament to teamwork far beyond his previous understanding.

Akihiro explains his brothers' and his own ruthless ambition, fighting for their inheritance and their name, showing no mercy to traitors. Seiroku's magical projection appears, mocking Akihiro and declaring victory, believing he has successfully divided the human forces. But Kuroko reveals her deeper hand; the seemingly sacrificed units were a calculated distraction, drawing Seiroku's attention away from Musashi and the Shimazu. The episode ends in a tense standoff between the two master strategists, the sun rising over the battlefield, hinting at the bloody final phase to come.
