It was wild finding out that the monk was actually the fox this whole time. Onimaru is a legend for protecting those swords for thirteen years and it was sad seeing him trot away alone

Those thousands of swords solve the biggest problem for the rebellion. Onimaru kept that stockpile safe for years all by himself and he deserves a huge nap. That fox did so much for the cause

Kawamatsu and that fox holding out for thirteen years just to arm the rebellion is pure dedication and that underground vault is going to change everything for Kinemon and the others

Zoro was so focused on Shusui but he completely changed his tune when Enma was mentioned. The fact it belonged to Oden and actually cut Kaido is enough of a reason to switch. He needs that power

Zoro looked so shocked when he heard about a sword that scarred Kaido and you can tell he wants to test it out because that exchange with Hiyori was a huge turning point for his strength

Kawamatsu and Onimaru's bond is so gut-wrenching, I just wanted to reach into the screen and help them, especially when Onimaru bit him out of desperation. I get the importance of showing their history, but I gotta admit, I was a bit antsy for the story to move forward; that flashback felt like it dragged just a tad too much.

When that monk transformed into the fox in the snow, I just cheered, it looked so cool and super smooth! The colors were popping off the screen, and I was genuinely surprised by how much life they put into that one specific scene.

I cannot believe the monk was actually the fox the whole time and seeing him trot away after thirteen years of guarding those blades made me so emotional

The reveal that the warrior monk was actually Onimaru in disguise the whole time was such a great twist, and seeing the massive stash of swords he guarded for thirteen years really sets the stage for the rebellion, and it is wild that Oden had a blade capable of scarring Kaido and now Zoro is the one who gets to wield Enma

Kawamatsu and that fox are the real heroes for stockpiling thousands of weapons and it is so sad that the fox stayed there all those years alone

The constant flipping between different aspect ratios felt a bit weird, but those wide shots during the bridge fight really captured that old samurai movie atmosphere perfectly

Hiyori asking for the national treasure back was a heavy moment and Zoro actually listening shows he really respects the history of this land

Wano pacing is still dragging a bit but the lore about the eternal graves and why these swords matter to the people is actually really cool

I felt like Zoro looked a bit too eager for the new sword instead of being sad about Shusui but honestly Enma is such a massive upgrade for him

Ending on the news that Enma is the only blade to ever scar Kaido was huge and it makes you want to see Zoro try it out

The reveal about Enma being Oden's sword is insane because it means Zoro is finally getting a weapon that matches his ambition and giving up a national treasure for a dragon slayer seems like a fair trade

The snowy atmosphere in Ringo made that flashback feel so much more lonely, especially seeing Onimaru guard the graves alone. It really shows how much Wano has suffered under Kaido
garou_gusher_121's avatar
garou_gusher_121
Kawamatsu crying over all those blades in the secret vault was such a relief because the alliance finally has a chance and that fox did more for the country than most of the humans did
guru_guru_275's avatar
guru_guru_275
Hiyori asking Zoro to give up Shusui felt like a heavy request but then she name dropped Enma and a sword that actually cut Kaido is such a massive upgrade for him

My heart actually hurt when the fox realized Kawamatsu was back and he could finally stop fighting and Onimaru is definitely the most loyal character in this whole arc and he deserves a long nap

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming directly off Episode 953's revelations from Hiyori, this episode shifts focus to the preparation phase of the Wano arc, specifically the gathering of key resources and the forging of alliances ahead of the inevitable large-scale confrontation. It bridges the emotional weight of Wano's past with the strategic buildup toward war, making it a necessary connective chapter. The decisions made here—particularly Zoro's—carry forward as foundational moments for the battles to come.
