Kin'emon usually just feels like a goofy side character for laughs but this history of him being a punk before Oden saved him completely changed how he looks in my eyes. The way Toki used her fruit to send them away, while the castle was on fire, was brutal and I can't believe they’ve been carrying this for twenty years.

A time travel twist was completely unexpected, but it makes the Scabbards' loyalty feel so much more earned after seeing Oden's rise in Kuri.

Watching the transformation of Kuri from a dump to a real home hit me because it proves Oden was a leader and not just a strong fighter

The time travel fruit reveal explains so much about Momonosuke and his age and it actually makes sense now why they were so confused by the modern world

Seeing the castle burning while Toki sent them forward was intense and it really puts the weight of their mission into perspective for the whole crew

I finally understand how Kin'emon and the others got here and my mind is actually blown because the Time-Time fruit power is such a game changer for the whole story

Knowing why Kin'emon was so weird back in Punk Hazard finally makes sense and it is hard not to feel for the guy after seeing what Oden did for Kuri

Learning about the history of the Scabbards makes sense now and my respect for his devotion is much deeper than it was before this backstory dump

Oden is a total unit for changing that lawless land into a paradise and even with his face hidden you can tell he had incredible charisma

That shot of Oden standing over the thugs he defeated in Kuri was great and it shows why everyone is so obsessed with him even now

Roger and Whitebeard admiring the same guy tells you everything you need to know about Oden and his strength in the Flower Capital

The visual of Oden standing over the lawless zone and fixing it was really nice. You can tell why Whitebeard and Roger would want a guy like that on their ships

Kin'emon explaining the time travel stuff was actually insane and I didn't think the story would ever go there but it explains so much about how they got here

Luffy punching the wall felt a bit extra since we barely know Oden yet. The anime made them look way more emotional than it felt for the audience and it was kind of distracting

I cannot get over that time travel reveal. Kin'emon being from the past is absolutely insane and it explains so much about how they got here. Lady Toki has a wild power

those guys waiting twenty years for a chance at revenge is some serious dedication. hearing the truth about how they got here was heavy

My brain is still processing the fact that Momonosuke is actually from the past. I always thought he was just a weird kid but the Toki Toki no Mi reveal is a total game changer

I felt so bad for Oden even though he was mostly just a silhouette and his life sounded like a complete tragedy and it makes me hate Kaido even more than I already did

The struggle Kin'emon and the rest of the scabbards went through after the execution really makes their loyalty feel earned, especially with how long they waited to strike back

Kozuki Oden is already one of the coolest characters in the show and he has not even shown his face properly yet. His journey from being banished to becoming daimyo was great

EPISODE CONTEXT

Following Episode 909's revelations at the Oden Castle ruins and the emotional reunions there, this episode pivots into essential backstory that contextualizes everything the Straw Hats are fighting for in Wano. It bridges the gap between discovery and action, laying the historical groundwork before Episode 911 shifts focus toward the strategic planning against Kaido and Orochi. This is the connective tissue that transforms Wano from a setting into a cause.
