That Ryokugyu silhouette totally blindsided me, and I'm already making up theories about what kind of laid-back, but incredibly dangerous, admiral he'll be. It makes me wonder if his powers have something to do with why he hasn't eaten in three years, like, what even *is* that about?

Ryokugyu seems like a total wildcard with that attitude and hiding his face makes the mystery of his power even better

I was really thinking about the inherited will theme during the Roger scenes, and the way the Marines are bracing for the future felt really heavy

Fujitora just doing whatever he wants while the Fleet Admiral yells at him is so funny and it makes the Marine hierarchy look like a total mess

Akainu taking off his hat and looking frustrated was a small detail but it made him feel more like a real person dealing with difficult subordinates

Akainu's explosive temper when talking to the Gorosei always makes me laugh, especially contrasted with Ryokugyu just lounging around, but I was genuinely surprised by how much the old G-1 base has transformed. It really highlights for me how the world has hardened and become a total warzone since the timeskip.

The silhouette of Ryokugyu showing up was cool and he seems way more relaxed than you would expect for an admiral who is supposedly a monster

Those Paramount War scenes made me feel so nostalgic but it was the mention of Roger that really tied the whole episode together for me

The new Marine headquarters at G-1 looks absolutely massive and the scale of that fortress really shows how much they have been building up since the war

I honestly think Ryokugyu and Fujitora being friends is the best part of the episode and seeing them talk about Vegapunk and his new invention makes me wonder if the warlords are actually done for, it was nice to see the Marineford clips too because I missed that era even if the pacing was a bit slow today with all the recaps

The mystery of the new admiral is cool but they really need to stop showing the same scenes of Ace over and over

The voice acting for Green Bull is so charismatic and cool, and it makes the wait for a full face reveal even more exciting than before.

I really liked the charismatic energy of Ryokugyu's voice since he sounds so different from the other Admirals, and his conversation with Fujitora was the highlight of the day. It was frustrating that the episode was ninety percent recap of the Paramount War, but the actual new scenes at the end were great and very interesting to finally watch.

I'm still reeling from that conversation about the new weapon replacing the Warlords; it’s making me super nervous about what kind of power could actually fill that void. This feels like the biggest shake-up to the world's balance we've seen since the Marines started actively hunting more pirates, and I just know it means even more chaos for our crew.

Ryokugyu seems like such a troll with the way he just ignores Akainu and hangs out with Fujitora, and his voice definitely fits that laid back personality

Hearing Ryokugyu talk about not eating for years while he laughed at Akainu made me really like his personality already

Finally getting to hear Ryokugyu speak was the highlight and he sounds way more relaxed than you would expect for a marine admiral

Akainu running his fingers through his hair like that completely threw me; he just looked so out of place, almost like he was *trying* to be casual and joke with everyone. It made me wonder if he was being sarcastic or just had a momentary lapse, because I've never seen him so... human, and honestly, it gave me chills.

Akainu looks like he is about to have a heart attack over Luffys new bounty and his face when he hears about Fujitora is hilarious

Akainu taking off his hat and running his fingers through his hair while he was yelling at Fujitora was such a funny moment of pure stress

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned squarely in the Reverie buildup, this episode follows the initial introduction of Admiral Ryokugyu and the gathering of world leaders, deepening both threads with meaningful character interactions and political tension. It bridges the gap between the Whole Cake Island aftermath and the full-scale Reverie arc by grounding the audience in the broader geopolitical stakes. The next episode shifts focus to Princess Shirahoshi's surface-world experiences and the Revolutionary Army's covert movements, meaning this installment serves as the calm, contemplative center before those storylines ignite.
