The way the art looked today was so different and organic. That ship rolling up onto the land to save the day looked fantastic with this style

Bege telling Pez to watch how a man lives while he stared down Oven was such a strong moment. He is proving he is way more than just a typical mafia guy

When Sanji just *hoisted* that whole giant cake cart, my jaw dropped! I mean, I know he's strong, but seeing him pull off a stunt like that, especially with such fluid animation, just showed me how determined he is to get that cake to Pudding and save the day. It was such a cool, hyped moment!

I am so glad Luffy chose to go back and face Katakuri instead of just running away to the island. Hearing him talk about surpassing Katakuri and seeing that Rayleigh flashback made his goal feel so much more real. Bege also stole the show with his ship, and his love for Chiffon shows how he really cares for family

Bege treated Pez so well during that chaotic fight. He really showed out for his family and seeing that ship move on land was the coolest thing ever

Luffy deciding to stay and fight Katakuri because he wants to get better at Haki is why he is the best. Rayleigh was right about him getting stronger in the heat of it

Carrot asking about the full moon gave me chills. I feel like something huge is about to happen with her and the minks soon

The art looked so much cleaner than usual and you can really tell the difference with Studio Guts back because the character expressions and movement felt way more fluid

Oven getting run over by a pirate ship on land was the highlight of the week and Bege is officially a great dad

The parallel between Luffy and Bege today was strong, since both captains are pushing themselves to the absolute limit for the sake of their goals and their people

I ended up liking Bege way more after seeing him care for Chiffon and Pez and that land ship charging in was such a great scene

I was totally shocked when Katakuri flicked that jelly bean and I still cannot believe how strong he is compared to everyone else right now

The Nostra Castello being a literal tank ship that flies is the coolest thing this arc and seeing the Fire Tank pirates pull that off to save Chiffon was actually insane

I honestly never thought I would care about Bege this much but seeing him be such a family man to Chiffon and Pez really got to me and then Katakuri showing off that future sight was so scary because it feels like Luffy is completely outmatched but he just wants to get stronger and it feels like things are finally moving

Luffy staring down the Mirror World and Katakuri while keeping his cool as a captain shows how much he has grown since the start of this whole mess

Luffy taking charge and making sure everyone stays focused despite Big Mom being right there proves he is the only one who can lead this crew through the New World

The animation for the Nostra Castello driving onto the island looked great and it makes Bege look so cool for having a tank ship

Luffy realizing he has to reach Katakuri level to win shows how much he has grown and he is not backing down from that challenge

I had zero expectations for Bege this arc but seeing him shoot Oven while holding his kid changed everything and he is a great captain for that

When Luffy started pressing Brulee about his Haki, I couldn't help but feel a surge of respect for his sheer stubbornness; he's so clearly outmatched by Katakuri right now, but he's just refusing to back down. It makes me wonder if he's thinking back to previous times he was pushed to his limits, too.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off Episode 859's focus on Sanji and Chiffon's wedding cake mission, this episode pivots to the captains driving the broader conflict against the Big Mom Pirates, deepening the parallel between Bege and Luffy's leadership styles. It serves as a critical bridge between the alliance's planning phase and the escalating confrontations ahead, crystallizing the motivations that will fuel the arc's climactic turns. The groundwork laid here directly feeds into the high-intensity sequences that follow as both crews push deeper into enemy territory.
