The way the crew is processing Pedro is so different for each of them, and seeing Brook that frustrated is hard to watch. Luffy closing that door on his friends to fight Katakuri was incredible.

Katakuri using those mochi attacks looks terrifying and Luffy is in for a rough time. The way the mirror shattered felt so final and desperate

Nami crying over Pedro while Brook just looks purely angry is so painful. The crew is hurting and you can tell they are barely holding it together during this escape

Jimbei keeping his cool is exactly what the crew needs right now. Seeing him stay steady while Brook loses his mind over Pedro is a heavy scene

Breaking that mirror was such a heavy move and it shows how much Luffy has grown as a captain since the start. I was crying with Nami over Pedro but then he just went and sacrificed his own safety to make sure they could sail away. He looks so ready to fight Katakuri and hearing him promise to return really stuck with me.

I can't believe Luffy really broke that mirror and trapped himself in there with Katakuri just so the Sunny could get away. He looks so serious right now and his promise to win was huge

Luffy shouting about beating Big Mom while staring down Katakuri is such a big move. He is clearly focused on protecting the ship and Katakuri looks like an absolute beast

Luffy's decision to just shatter that mirror, trapping himself in a literal pocket dimension, totally threw me for a loop—I mean, he *knew* what he was doing, right? It just shows how far my captain will go to protect everyone, risking his own freedom to save the Thousand Sunny. I'm so worried about how he's even gonna get out of this mess.

Luffy just standing back up to Katakuri, I swear my jaw dropped because I was ready to count him out, but that dude's will to reunite with his crew and claim the Pirate King title is just insane. Seriously, you can practically see the fire in his eyes telling Katakuri he's not going anywhere.

I felt so much respect for Luffy when he dragged Katakuri into the Mirror World and broke their only way back out just to save everyone on the Sunny

The showdown between Luffy and Katakuri starting now is a big deal because he seems like the first person who can actually match Luffy right now

It is crazy how Big Mom just chewed on the Thousand Sunny like it was actual wedding cake and almost stopped them from flying away

Luffy just grabbing Katakuri and smashing through that mirror had me literally yelling at my screen, what a wild move! I love seeing him so confidently take on these crazy Yonko commanders, it makes me think he's absolutely ready to take on anything in the New World now.

Jimbe steering the Sunny through that chaos showed he is the perfect helmsman and the tension during the escape was off the charts

Watching Brook get so angry about Pedro while Jimbei stayed completely focused on the helm was such a heavy contrast to watch. I think it shows how much experience Jimbei has with loss, but it still hurts to see them grieving like that. This entire escape from Whole Cake Island is just one tragedy after another and I am really stressed out

Luffy dragging Katakuri into the mirror world and smashing the glass so the others can escape safely was a massive play for the crew

The Coup de Burst escape was a total breath of fresh air because they were absolutely toast if they stayed near Big Mom for one more second

Luffy smashing that mirror and pulling Katakuri into the mirror world was such a huge moment for a captain and he is really carrying the crew on his back right now

Perospero surviving that massive blast is such a slap in the face to Pedro's memory, but at least he lost an arm for his trouble

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 850 lands in the thick of a critical escape sequence following a major sacrifice that gave the Straw Hats their opening — the emotional fallout from that event still reverberates here. This episode serves as a transitional powerhouse, channeling the aftermath into forward momentum while setting the stage for an intense confrontation that will push the crew's unity and combat abilities to their breaking point. It's a pivotal connective tissue episode that bridges devastating loss with the fight still ahead.
