When the Grand Fleet actually showed up, I was absolutely floored by how much influence Luffy has; it genuinely made me think of how Whitebeard commanded so much loyalty, gathering all those allies not just by strength but by sheer force of personality.

Luffy just wanting to eat meat while five thousand guys try to pledge their lives to him is the most Luffy thing ever and it made me laugh so much

Fujitora dropping that mountain of rubble on those random pirates to help Luffy escape was a great way to end their meeting. I loved that the seven captains just ignored Luffys refusal and drank the sake anyway to form the alliance on their own terms, and it made me feel like the Straw Hats are finally big time

Bartolomeo is the ultimate fan and him crying while forcing that alliance to happen was the highlight because he knows Luffy is the best leader for them

The narrator saying these seven captains are going to cause a massive incident later on gave me actual chills and now the world feels way bigger

Luffy refusing to be a boss because he wants everyone to stay free is exactly why people follow him and seeing Hajrudin drink that sake regardless felt powerful
nyanfishy's avatar

Fujitora thanking Luffy for cleaning up the mess that the World Government made was a really powerful moment, and it feels right seeing an admiral finally acknowledge the truth of what happened on this island

Luffy refusing to be a big boss just so he can stay free is so him and those seven crews joining him anyway was actually moving

I still find it hilarious that Luffy wanted nothing to do with being a big boss, but the fleet just decided to follow him anyway. It fits him so well to just want to be free, while five thousand pirates are literally pledging their lives to him. The narrator tease about them causing a huge historical incident actually got me really excited

I can't believe Luffy really tried to say no to having an army and they just did it anyway because that is just how he is

Dressrosa being over is a relief but seeing over five thousand people pledge their lives to Luffy while he just wants some food is the funniest thing ever

Dressrosa felt like it lasted forever, but those five thousand people joining the cause made the wait feel worth it in the end

Hearing that voiceover mention a future incident involving those seven captains is a massive tease and it makes the whole fleet feel so much more important

The scale of that massive fleet and all those ships sailing together under the Straw Hat name is so impressive after all the exhaustion and misery that happened during the long fight against Doflamingo

Those fleet ships, all lined up at the end, seriously gave me chills thinking about the sheer scale of the Grand Line that's still out there! And my mind was absolutely blown when Luffy's bounty hit 500 million berries; it’s like he’s finally got the cred to stand with the big dogs, and I'm beyond hyped for what this means for his legend.

Seeing those seven captains drink the sake even after Luffy said no really shows how much gravity his personality has and how he changes people without even trying

The party on the ship felt like a huge relief after years of fighting and seeing everyone finally celebrate together made the long wait for the end of Dressrosa worth it

Everyone drinking those sake cups together even after Luffy said no was a great way to start this new alliance
kaolinite_382's avatar

I honestly got a bit choked up when the narrator started talking about the huge event that this fleet is going to cause later, because it makes everything feel so much bigger than just Dressrosa. Seeing Luffy turn down the sake and then everyone just drinks it anyway because they respect him that much was just the perfect way to end this

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the high-stakes confrontation with Admiral Fujitora and the chaos of the Dressrosa aftermath, this episode serves as the definitive capstone to one of One Piece's longest and most consequential arcs. It crystallizes the relationships built across dozens of episodes of fighting into something with lasting narrative implications. The alliances cemented here lay critical groundwork for the Straw Hats' trajectory into the New World's most dangerous waters ahead.
