Bartolomeo crying because Zoro acknowledged him is the highlight of my day and he is literally every single fan of this show right now

Doflamingo actually *pausing* before hitting Law, all because his subordinate was in the way, genuinely threw me off. I've always seen him as just this total monster, so it makes me wonder if even he has a twisted code of loyalty beneath all that cruelty.

Those different shots they used for the bridge battle looked so good and it really emphasized how much pressure Law is under while fighting Doflamingo

You can really tell the pacing is starting to drag in the coliseum because they keep explaining Rebecca's sword dance over and over instead of just letting the fight happen

You have to wonder about Rebecca's logic because sending people to get eaten by fish is basically the same as cutting them with a sword, but the arena art looked nice at least

The clash between Law and Doflamingo on the bridge looked incredible and the camera angles during their fight made the whole thing feel so much more intense to me

kurabokko_18
I really enjoyed the animation during the bridge fight but the coliseum is starting to move so slowly that it feels like they are stretching every single page of the manga, Rebecca's pacifism is weird since those fighting fish are definitely going to maim those guys, and Bartolomeo being a Straw Hat fan is the only thing keeping the arena scenes fun

Doflamingo stopping his attack on Law just to protect his crewmate is such a strange contrast to how evil he usually acts toward everyone else in Dressrosa

When Bartolomeo went full fanboy, completely forgetting he's this feared pirate, I couldn't stop grinning. It's so wild to see someone like him get so star-struck over the Straw Hats; it makes me wonder what kind of history he has with them to be such a dedicated follower!

Rebecca claiming she does not want to hurt anyone while she literally drops them into a pit of giant hungry fish feels like a bit of a stretch
parella's avatar

Rebecca using observation haki to just dance around everyone in the ring is a bit dull when you really just want to see her actually land a hit for once
groudon's avatar

Rebecca using Haki to dodge everything is actually pretty cool but her fighting in that outfit makes no sense and feels really out of place

Doflamingo dodging those invisible cuts from Law was actually terrifying because it shows how much of a monster he really is
cloud_strife_399's avatar
cloud_strife_399
The pacing in the coliseum feels like it is dragging a bit with all the extra gladiator shots and unnecessary reactions, but that Doflamingo and Law clash made up for it and it is strange how Doflamingo can see Laws room attacks when nobody else can and seeing Sanji get caught up with Violet is really suspicious

I couldn't stop laughing when Bartolomeo started losing his mind over Zoro because his fanboy energy is exactly what this show needs right now

Bartolomeo is basically all of us watching this show and I just want to give him a hug for crying over Zoro

law finally standing up to doflamingo on the bridge was great, and seeing sanji think about what violet told him made for a nice break from the coliseum

Ugh, I gotta say, that backwater sword dance was such a letdown for me, especially after all the hype around these arena fights. And honestly, the constant flashbacks are just dragging everything down, making me wonder if we're ever gonna get to the good stuff.

When Bartolomeo totally lost it seeing Zoro, I was cracking up, like, his hero worship is just too much! But then all those other arena battles kinda made me zone out, I just kept thinking, "when are we gonna get back to the main action?"

the way rebecca fights without hurting anyone is a neat idea but putting them in water with those fighting fish seems just as bad as stabbing them

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting deep in the Dressrosa arc, this episode follows directly from Sanji's dangerous encounter with Doflamingo and escalates the conflict on multiple fronts simultaneously. It develops key individual threads — Law's showdown, Rebecca's arena philosophy, and the crew's escape toward Zou — that will converge as the arc barrels toward its major turning points. The groundwork laid here for character alliances and rivalries becomes critical in the episodes ahead.
