Brook playing his violin to fix the art transformation was such a smart move and seeing him outwit Giolla after that long build up was extremely satisfying

The fight against Giolla dragged on a bit, but Brook getting that finishing move made the wait worth it for the Soul King fans who wanted to see him win

Doflamingo being a former Celestial Dragon actually explains so much about how he can manipulate the world and it makes Law looking so shocked even more intense

Watching Nami and the others turn into weird abstract paintings was actually kind of unsettling, but Brook pretending to join the crew just to slice Giolla's art soul was the highlight for me and I think the anime dragged the fight out a bit too much with that weird dimension stuff, and it felt a little slow compared to the manga but Brook saved it

The colors during the art fight looked like a neon nightmare and Giolla dragging everyone into a pocket dimension was a wild visual choice for a battle like this

My heart sank for Law when Doflamingo started talking about his past and knowing he is one of those world nobles explains so much about why he is so arrogant

Brook really pulled a fast one on Giolla, and I was so impressed with his quick thinking! My jaw dropped when he pulled off that slick, speedy slash, it just showed me how much he's truly underestimated.

I really appreciated the extra scenes with Nami and Chopper fighting back because the manga felt way too short for that part, but Doflamingos reveal is what truly got me today. Finding out his family were Celestial Dragons makes him ten times more terrifying and it really changes the way you look at his influence over everything in Dressrosa

The visuals during the art fruit fight looked like someone poured paint over the screen and it was a bit much but it definitely fit Giollas personality

Giolla having a secret pocket dimension was a cool addition, even if the fight felt like it was moving at a snail's pace to stretch the episode out

Bartolomeo crying over just being in the presence of the Straw Hats is still the funniest thing and his fanboy energy is the only thing keeping the tension manageable right now

Giolla turning everything into a crazy abstract painting was so weird to watch and the animators really went wild with those neon colors on the ship

Violet being able to see for thousands of kilometers is such a broken ability, and it makes me wonder how anyone hides anything on this island with her around

Momonosuke getting that final hit on Giolla was actually pretty funny and seeing the weakling trio get a win felt good even if the fight was kind of slow

That lore dump about the Celestial Dragons makes the whole world feel so much bigger and Doflamingo is definitely the most interesting villain we have seen in a long time

I am still reeling from Doflamingo telling Law about his past as a Celestial Dragon because that changes how you look at the entire World Government and the nobility

Seeing the Sunny turned into a weird abstract painting was super creative and it made the battle with Giolla feel different from the usual brawls in this show

I cannot believe Doflamingo just dropped that history about his family and being a Celestial Dragon explains so much about how he carries himself

I almost lost it when Brook did that fake laugh to trick Giolla because he really got into character and his violin move to save the others was such a relief

The transition from Doflamingo laughing to Brook doing that weird cackle was pure gold and it really highlighted how goofy this show can get even during serious stakes at Green Bit

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting deep within the sprawling Dressrosa arc, this episode pivots away from the colosseum's Block D battle introduced in Episode 652 to spotlight the Straw Hats' simultaneous struggle against the Donquixote Pirates' forces. It reinforces the multi-front nature of the Dressrosa conflict and establishes key character dynamics that feed into the arc's escalating stakes. The confrontation with Giolla serves as a building block toward the larger showdowns with the Donquixote Family that define the episodes ahead.
