The Kung Fu Dugong showing up again was genuinely such a wild callback, I mean, Alabasta feels like ages ago! But then, seeing my guy bust out Haki, like, seriously?! My jaw dropped, that was just beyond awesome and totally unexpected.

Caesar getting kidnapped off the ship immediately is actually hilarious because Law spent so much time planning everything out just for it to go wrong because of some random sea lapins

Law just hanging out with the crew is something I enjoyed even if this is filler and his face when the Straw Hats start acting like idiots was such a funny reaction

Breed is already the most annoying guy because that laugh is actually grating and his fruit power feels like such a cheap way to mess with the crew

I actually yelled when the Kung-Fu Dugong showed up on the screen and seeing him lead a whole crew with Haki is the best thing this filler could have done

Law looked so done with everything when the sea animals showed up and his facial expressions are carrying this whole mission to find Caesar right now

This feels like a nice change of pace after everything at Punk Hazard and the animation quality is actually way better than what you normally get for filler

Caesar getting kidnapped right after they finally finished everything at the lab is such a random twist but it gives a good excuse for the crew to move around

A pirate crew led by the Kung Fu Dugong himself, can you believe it? I genuinely smiled seeing him put Luffy's simple words from Alabasta into action like that, it's such a sweet little nod to their past adventures and just warms my heart in a filler.

I actually really enjoyed this start to the filler even though Caesar getting snatched right away was a bit of a surprise, and honestly Breed is a total creep for what he did to the sea animals and seeing the Kung Fu Dugong again brought back so many memories for me of the Alabasta days and it makes me happy he kept training

The animation during the fight scenes feels incredibly smooth, and it makes the transition into this side story feel much more natural than most filler arcs usually do

When Luffy was going absolutely wild on those sea creatures, my eyes were glued to the screen; the animation was so crisp that I couldn't help but question again whether his gatling attack is truly just speed, or if he's actually manifesting more arms. It's crazy how much that old debate still amps up every big fight for me, especially when it looks this good.

Luffy finding a giant beetle and getting distracted while Caesar is literally being kidnapped shows his priorities haven't changed at all since the early days

Chopper being forced into his Monster Point made my heart ache because you can tell he is trying so hard to fight against that collar

Chopper, forced into his monster point by that collar and swinging at Law, seriously spooked me. I can't imagine how terrifying it felt for him, trapped in that form while attacking an ally, and it reminded me of the sheer power he unleashed back at Enies Lobby.

This episode dragged a bit at the start but the animation quality is way better than the last few canon episodes we got

Law looks so done with Luffy and the sea animals already and it is hilarious watching him try to stay serious while a dugong is running around the ship

I am honestly not even mad about the filler starting because seeing the Kung Fu Dugong again made my day. It was such a great callback to Alabasta, and seeing him actually command a crew with Haki is hilarious. Law being forced into these weird situations is always gold since he is usually so grumpy and serious about everything and everyone

I think seeing the Kung Fu Dugong again and seeing him use Haki was the highlight for me

I really can not believe the Kung Fu Dugong actually knows haki now. Seeing him back with his own pirate crew made me so happy after all this time since Alabasta

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned directly after the conclusion of the Punk Hazard arc, this filler episode serves as a bridge before the narrative accelerates into the next major storyline. The crew has just forged a crucial alliance and escaped significant danger, and this installment lets that dust settle rather than advancing the manga's plot. Skip-friendly for viewers marathoning toward the next canon arc without losing any story threads.
