The fight between smoker and vergo started out strong but the pacing felt really slow and long winded when they kept cutting away to the gas chamber stuff

The sheer audacity of Caesar, making those marines believe his evil gas experiment was somehow their fault, just boiled my blood. Seriously, I was practically screaming at the screen for Luffy to send that clown straight into the Grand Line.

Momonosuke transforming back from that cute little pink dragon seriously caught me off guard, I thought he was just some random creature Luffy picked up! Realizing that he's actually a frightened kid, forced into that monstrous form by Caesar, just makes the whole *smiles* experiment feel even more messed up and cruel than I already thought.

How satisfying was it to finally see Smoker land that first blow on Vergo, I totally pumped my fist! But then the other parts of the episode felt like such a slow crawl, which really took me out of the moment and made me wonder if they were just trying to fill time.

Seeing luffy get that look in his eyes after hearing what caesar did to those kids gave me chills and i can tell he is about to go crazy

Smoker using armament haki to actually land a punch on Vergo was a huge highlight and seeing him step up like that made the whole episode feel worth it

It was weird seeing Sanji take that much damage to his leg against Vergo, but he still stayed cool and helped the G-5 marines get to safety

The episode title lied because the fight with Smoker was so short and they kept jumping to other stuff and it made the whole battle feel really disjointed

Luffy meeting Momonosuke in the garbage was a great surprise and seeing that little dragon still try to maintain his samurai pride even while he is starving made me laugh

Sanji helping those G-5 guys escape the gas despite being enemies was actually really sweet and it shows his soft side

Honestly I really did not expect to feel bad for the G-5 guys, but Sanji helping them out while they were all crying and acting like idiots was weirdly sweet. It is crazy how Vergo is just an absolute monster with his Haki, and seeing Smoker actually struggle this much against another Vice Admiral makes the New World feel way more dangerous than before.

Caesar Clown might be a total jerk but his voice actor is doing an incredible job. That speech he gave to the soldiers was so manipulative and showed how evil he is

Vegapunk making objects eat devil fruits sounds like some crazy science and it makes the lore on this island feel so much deeper

When Vergo was just wailing on Smoker, I was seriously wondering why Law wasn't doing anything, like, is he really *that* much of a villain right now, or is there a bigger plan I'm missing? My stomach was in knots watching Smoker get completely wrecked like that.

I was so confused when that tiny pink dragon started talking to Luffy in the trash room but Momonosuke being a dragon is such a weird twist

Luffy finding that weird little pink dragon in the trash was so random and his reaction was funny but the dragon looks so sad and lost in that garbage pit

The story is barely moving and it is starting to get frustrating. You wait all week for a big fight and then you get five minutes of action and twenty minutes of walking

I was really hyped for Smoker versus Vergo and the animation for their haki punches was so good but then the episode spent way too much time on Caesar crying and manipulating his men and I just wanted to get back to the actual fight because those two vice admirals going at it is the coolest thing this arc has done so far

Using a bamboo stick to fight a Vice Admiral is a total power move and the way Vergo just breaks things with it while coated in Haki is terrifying

Sanji being halfway decent to those G-5 marines was a nice touch even if they are still loud and annoying guys who probably do not deserve his help

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 610 follows directly from the Luffy-versus-Monet confrontation in Episode 609, pivoting the camera to the equally critical Smoker-Vergo showdown that has been brewing since the dark truths of Punk Hazard began surfacing. This battle is a linchpin moment in the arc, forcing allegiances into the open and raising the stakes for every faction on the island. It sets the stage for Episode 611's shift in focus with the introduction of Momonosuke, signaling the arc's transition toward its next major phase.
