This episode spent way too much time on setup and the promised fight between luffy and hody barely lasted a second which is really frustrating when the title is that specific

I felt so much hype when Zoro stepped in to save Robin from that octopus because the music made him look so much stronger than everyone else

Luffy and Hordy barely traded hits and the episode ended right when it was getting good but at least we got to see those beefy sound effects for the kicks

Hordy is acting so smug about Luffy being weak in the water but he is forgetting that Luffy spent two years preparing for exactly this kind of stuff

The way those energy steroids changed that swordsman was actually kind of creepy and it shows how desperate these fishmen are to win

I was actually pretty annoyed that they called this a fierce fight when it was mostly just talking and setup for later stuff, but Luffy finally landing that hit to save Shirahoshi made the wait worth it. The fishman pirates are still kind of boring as villains compared to CP9 though and it makes the action here feel a bit slow

Everyone on the crew standing together against those fishmen after the long separation finally got the battle in Gyoncorde Plaza moving

The title totally lied because that fight was way too short but seeing Zoro just walk through that fish guy like he was nothing made up for it

Hordy feels like a total lunatic for betraying his own men, and the way the sound design makes every hit feel heavy is really helping the tension build up

I hate how the character designs look lately because some of the faces look so distorted and weirdly drawn during the action scenes

The way hyouzou just flew away when zoro looked at him makes me wonder if he used conquerors haki even if he won't admit it yet

Jimbe and sanji look so strong after the timeskip and that seven thousand brick roundhouse kick sent those fishmen flying in such a satisfying way

Hody is legitimately terrifying for being willing to kill his own people and the way he just took out decken shows how much he hates everyone around him

Some of the animation looked a bit rough in the background but watching luffy use snake shot was a cool way to see his new training in action

The anime is trying so hard to make these fishmen look scary with all these extra scenes but they still just look like fodder for the crew to test their new moves on

The title of this episode is such a lie because the actual fight barely even started and they really just stood around for most of it

Watching everyone get their match-ups is cool, but let's be real, we only cared about seeing Zoro standing there with those three swords and his new scar

Robin growing those giant legs and arms to stomp everyone is definitely a weird sight but she is taking out crowds so easily now

Luffy jumping in to grab the princess was a nice touch and it shows how much faster he has gotten since the training

Hordy keeps talking like he is a big deal but I am just not feeling it and he feels like a huge step down from the villains we had before the timeskip

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming directly off Episode 559's urgent rush to shield Shirahoshi, this episode pivots from defensive tension into outright offensive warfare against the New Fish-Man Pirates. It marks the true beginning of the arc's climactic battle phase, establishing the individual matchups that will define the next stretch of episodes. Episode 561 continues to escalate these confrontations as the crew works to dismantle Hordy's forces and his grip on Fish-Man Island.
