Robin pulling out that colossal hand to keep the Sunny from splintering on the rocks had me absolutely bug-eyed, I honestly didn't know she had that kind of power in her! And then Franky just casually busts out actual rockets from his shoulders? My goodness, I just love how he's always got some new, wild cyborg trick up his sleeve.

The pacing felt a bit dragged out during the descent but seeing Caribou get tied up so fast after his crew got wrecked by the Kraken was pretty funny

I still can't get over how much Sanji is struggling with his nosebleeds just by looking at photos of Nami and Robin, but the best part was definitely seeing Momoo again. Poor guy saw Luffy and remembered the trauma from Arlong Park then just booked it. Watching the trio jump out of the bubble to face that Kraken was terrifying.

Luffy wanting to make that giant Kraken his pet is so funny and Momoo immediately running away because he remembers getting beat up at Arlong Park made me laugh so hard

Zoro slicing that giant tentacle like it was nothing felt so different from how they used to struggle and seeing him just casually out there in the water is wild

Luffy calling a giant sea monster Surume because he wants to keep it as a pet is the most on brand thing ever and he just makes it work

i was staring at the screen when chopper used that new kung fu point because he looks so goofy but he actually holds his own against those tentacles pretty well

seeing robin sprout those giant legs to stop the ship from hitting the rocks was such a cool way to show her training and she looks so much more confident now

My jaw practically dropped seeing how easily the Straw Hats handled that giant Kraken, it really highlighted their growth and made me think back to much tougher fights like when they faced off against CP9. But man, Hody Jones appearing felt like such a sudden punch to the gut after all that lighthearted chaos; now I'm super on edge wondering how they're going to fight such a serious threat underwater.

Being under the dark ocean water feels so claustrophobic and the way the navigation scenes were handled really put me in the middle of the journey

Hody Jones has a really intense presence and the way he talks about humans already makes him feel like a great villain for this arc

The scale of that Kraken fight was amazing and seeing the Sunny look like a toy next to it was a cool visual

Nami explaining how the deep sea currents work makes the world feel so much more dangerous, and the animation of the dark ocean is really spooky

Caribou trying to sneak onto the ship and getting caught immediately was pure comedy and it was a great break from the deep sea tension

Poor Mohmoo just wanted to get away from Luffy and Sanji because he remembered how scary they were back at Arlong Park

I think Hody Jones looks terrifying and his introduction really sets a dark tone for the start of this new island

Whoa, the size of that Kraken underwater completely blew me away, I can't believe the Straw Hats are already taking on something so epic. I was genuinely wondering how they'd even begin to fight a beast like that down in the deep, but of course, they found a way!

When Zoro effortlessly sliced that huge tentacle with just one sword, I couldn't help but grin, knowing all that brutal training with Mihawk really paid off. It was awesome to see his new power in action, making me so hyped for what else he can do.

Watching Caribou get tied up and treated like a total loser was hilarious, especially since his voice is so creepy and annoying every time he tries to talk big.

luffy hitting that kraken with gear third and the black arm is exactly the kind of power jump that makes this whole new world journey feel real and dangerous

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode falls in the early stretch of the crew's submarine journey toward Fish-Man Island, directly following their long-awaited reunion and the upgrades gained during the two-year timeskip. It serves as a gauntlet that stress-tests the Straw Hats' new abilities in an unforgiving environment, building momentum toward the deeper threats and revelations awaiting them at Fish-Man Island. The underwater obstacles introduced here escalate further in subsequent episodes, making this a key tension-setter for the arc ahead.
