foxy showing up again for a filler arc is exactly why people skip these episodes, and the whole thing felt like a mess that went nowhere

Luffy deciding to help Rina was a cool moment but the rest of this episode felt like a mess and the Foxy pirates are just annoying now

The animation on the island collapsing was decent but the story with Sayo and the notebook is not really grabbing anyone and it feels skippable

I know this is just filler but seeing the Straw Hats just relax for a second at the start was nice even if the plot with Rina and the notebook felt really rushed, I definitely did not miss Foxy at all and his return makes the pacing feel sluggish compared to Thriller Bark, but at least Brook got some decent screen time

I feel like the whole treasure hunt thing on Spa Island is just a massive waste of time and I really just want to get back to the actual story

Brook finally flexing his unique powers to help the crew was genuinely exciting for me, especially after everything they'd been through, a moment where he truly shined. But then, for some reason, the whole island disintegrating into nothing just left me feeling a bit... blank, like it was just the inevitable end to another crazy situation.

Whoa, Sayo getting nabbed like that was totally wild, I didn't see that coming! But honestly, watching the whole freakin' island start to collapse while everyone's just going nuts trying to grab that gem? That's just peak One Piece insanity, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

It made me glad to see Brook actually do something useful today since he just joined and it is a nice break from the usual canon stuff

Why is Foxy here again because his voice is already getting on your nerves and the pacing feels so slow when nothing from the manga is happening

You can tell this is filler because of how random the villains are and seeing Foxy pop up again just makes it tempting to focus on the notebook plot

Wait Foxy is actually back and he is just as annoying as before but at least Luffy is actually helping Rina get Sayo back so there is some point to this

Doran and his weird little alliance might have been a bit of a mess but the way the spa island just fell apart at the end was such a chaotic way to finish the story

Foxy showing up again was the last thing you would expect but seeing the Straw Hats deal with his nonsense at the spa was actually pretty funny

Seeing the island owner team up with Foxy made no sense to me since he was already rich, but the action was really fluid. I actually liked the small moment where Brook talks to Robin about his spot on the ship because it makes him feel like part of the family even if this whole treasure hunt is just filler

The camera angles during the fight were so much better than usual and you usually do not see that much effort put into a random island filler arc

You can really tell the staff had fun with the visuals when Luffy went gear third because that whole sequence looked way better than a filler episode has any right to be

Poor Brook, trying so hard to integrate with the crew while their whole world was crumbling around them, it just twisted my stomach seeing him so desperate for a spot. My heart went out to him, knowing how long he'd been isolated, and it made the sheer chaos of that ending feel so much more poignant, like his hope was always on the verge of being crushed.

It cracked me up seeing Nami lose her mind over the treasure while Luffy just wanted to eat and her greed is the only thing keeping the budget together

It is definitely a weird side story, but the character interactions make it worth watching if you want to see the crew just messing around between the bigger arcs

That rainbow gem looks like something that might show up again way later in the story and it was cool seeing Nami be the only one who actually cared about how much it was worth

EPISODE CONTEXT

This filler episode lands squarely between two heavyweight arcs — arriving after the emotionally and physically demanding Thriller Bark Arc and just before the crew enters the Sabaody Archipelago Arc, one of the most consequential stretches in the entire series. It functions as a comedic cooldown, giving viewers a breather before the narrative intensity ramps up significantly. As a standalone filler with no impact on canon events, it can be safely skipped without losing any plot continuity.
