Perona has such a cool design and those depression ghosts are actually terrifying if you think about what they do to your spirit

garou_gusher_121
I still can't believe Thriller Bark is actually a giant boat and not an island because that scale is just ridiculous and Gecko Moria being a Warlord makes the threat feel much larger

Luffy asking the zombies for directions instead of being scared is the most Luffy thing ever and it totally kills the spooky vibe in a funny way

Another Warlord is finally showing up and Moria looks way more intimidating than the silhouette suggested with that weird neck and giant body

The way the zombies were all just waiting for the night raid to start was such a creepy way to end things

I lost it when Luffy just pushed that old zombie back into the hole like he was planting a tree and the way he does it with a straight face is so funny

So Brook really did lose his shadow to this Moria guy and the thought of being stuck in the dark forever is terrifying

Perona is finally here and her ghost powers are already causing so much trouble for the weakling trio

Seeing the zombies on the operating tables gave me total Frankenstein vibes and Hogback is clearly up to some really dark stuff in that castle

I honestly love the spooky atmosphere of this island, and finding out the whole place is just one giant ship is such a cool twist and Robin mentioning that Moria was a Warlord with a huge bounty makes the stakes feel so much higher for the crew now that they are stuck in the middle of this night raid

Luffy just pushing the zombie back into the ground is the funniest thing ever while everyone else is losing their minds

My jaw just hit the floor when they showed Hogback's lab, seriously, those stitched-up zombies combined with his absolutely grating laugh made me feel way more unnerved than I expected from a character like him; it’s a whole different kind of creepy that I hadn't anticipated in One Piece.

I am legitimately creeped out by the thought of losing your shadow and just burning up in the sun like that

Moria is actually massive and Robin saying his bounty was higher than Luffy's really puts into perspective how dangerous this guy is
tabun_titan's avatar

I am still thinking about Luffy pushing that zombie back into the ground like it was just a minor inconvenience
oni_omega's avatar

I was laughing so hard when the zombie dog tried to be scary and Luffy just treated it like a regular puppy because he is too brave for his own good

Watching Absalom turn invisible and mess with the crew is actually pretty tense and it makes you wonder how they even fight someone they cannot see. This arc has a great spooky style and the zombie designs are so creative

The atmosphere on Thriller Bark is so different from anything else found in the Grand Line so far, and watching the crew get separated makes the horror elements work much better. Hogback is a total freak, and the revelation about Moria being a Warlord really changes things. You have to wonder how Luffy is going to punch a shadow in this arc
uraraka_uravity_124's avatar

Gecko Moria is finally here and his design is way weirder than expected for a Warlord and stealing shadows is such a terrifying concept for this world

Moria is massive and seeing him wake up to start the night raid was a great way to show how much trouble the crew is in

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming directly off Episode 342's initial exploration of Thriller Bark, this episode marks the turning point from mystery to active danger by formally introducing Gecko Moria and his key subordinates as the arc's antagonists. It deepens the crew's entanglement with Thriller Bark's supernatural mechanics, escalating from eerie discovery to the realization that escape won't come easy. Everything here is foundational setup for the confrontations and shadow-stealing conflicts that will define the Thriller Bark arc going forward.
