A thematic conclusion focusing on wonder and passage. Decent payoff, but overall arc remains average.

I actually enjoyed this filler arc even if the ending with the time travel was a bit messy and now I am ready to see where the ship goes next

The kids coming back as old men in the navy was a huge shock and it really made that whole pocket dimension stuff make sense in the end

Rapa Nui sinking an entire boat with just a tiny coin was the most ridiculous thing but it looked cool anyway and it made the whole weird mist arc feel worth it for a second

My brain hurt trying to figure out how that book was written fifty years ago but still had the Straw Hats in it and I think I might be overthinking this filler plot

I still cant get over those kids ending up as the Marines who arrested the Mayor because that time jump was totally insane and I love that they got to save Henzo

Wetton getting taken down by the same kids he bullied fifty years ago is some irony and seeing them as high ranking Marines was a cool twist for a filler arc

I liked this ending more than I expected because seeing the Pumpkin Pirates show up as old Marines to arrest Wetton was so good to see, even if the time travel stuff makes my head spin a bit and the paradox with the book mentioning Luffy and the crew fifty years before they even met is some crazy writing for a filler arc

This whole Rainbow Mist thing is such a bizarre plot but seeing those kids turn into badass Marines made it better and at least the Mayor finally got what he deserved

Knowing that those marines were actually the childhood friends of Henzo was a shock and seeing them take Wetton away after all his greed was great

Even though this was filler, it was cool to see Robin being so useful, and that ending with the giant turtle and the talk about sky islands has me curious about how a turtle that big even exists

Usually these side stories are boring but this one had a decent ending and the mystery about the rainbow mist actually felt like it belonged in the world especially with those ruins

I felt so relieved seeing the ship escape through the exploding tower because the animation got really intense for a second and Luffy looked so happy to be back on the open sea

The way the mist spit those kids out fifty years in the past is wild, and the fact that they ended up being the marines who showed up to arrest Wetton was a surprise after seeing them as kids

It is crazy how the Straw Hats are already being mentioned in books before they even finish their journey and seeing Rapanoui as an old man after watching him as a kid was heavy

I honestly was not expecting this filler arc to get so emotional with Henzo and his old friends reuniting as grown men and the way the mist messed with time was super confusing but the payoff with the book showing up was cool plus Robin is already fitting in so well and helping everyone out with her smarts even when things were exploding everywhere

Seeing that giant turtle come out of nowhere at the very end was so weird and it definitely makes me want to see what is happening with the sky island talk from Nami

Wetton was such a jerk for trying to blow up the tower just to get some treasure and seeing him get his ship wrecked felt really good after all that mess

The way fifty years passed outside while it was only a few days in the mist is just a complete head scratcher that I did not expect

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 143 wraps up the Ruluka Island Arc, a short filler detour that introduced Mayor Wetton and the Rainbow Mist mystery across the preceding episodes. As a filler conclusion, it resolves all arc-specific plotlines without impacting the main One Piece narrative. After this, the Straw Hats move on to canon territory and new challenges, making this a clean skip point for viewers sticking strictly to manga-adapted content.
