Expands on the mystery but lacks urgency. The pacing drags slightly

Those kids just staying their age while Henzo visibly withered into an old man? That was genuinely jarring for me to watch, and incredibly sad. I'm left wondering if this time-warping mist is going to have some lasting effects on everyone exposed, or if it's just a temporary nightmare.

Luffy being hyped about finding treasure in a spooky graveyard of ships is the most Luffy thing ever

My mind is kind of blown that the Rainbow Mist just stops you from aging entirely and those children have no idea how much time passed

Seeing Henzo finally find his friends only to realize they are still children was a heavy moment for me. I usually skip filler but the idea of being trapped in time while the world moves on for fifty years is such a cool concept and seeing the Straw Hats try to navigate the ship graveyard was fun.

Those kids acting like it was just yesterday when Henzo has aged fifty years is so messed up

Henzo's face when the Pumpkin Pirates showed up, still just kids, was absolutely heartbreaking for me. I could only imagine the bittersweet rush of emotions he must've felt, realizing how much time had truly passed for him alone, leaving them untouched by age.

This arc is actually decent for filler because the mystery about the mist keeps things moving, especially with the Pumpkin Pirates reveal.

The concept of the Pumpkin Pirates is way better than most filler because the emotional stakes with Henzo actually matter for the plot

The ships rotting inside the mist really sold the idea that this place is a dead end for anyone who gets lost in the fog

Putting Nami and Sanji on the outside while the rest of the crew is lost in a time distortion creates a lot of tension for a side story

The dynamic between Zoro and Robin while they were stuck in the mist felt so calm compared to Usopp screaming his head off at every little ghost

Henzo looks so heartbroken when he sees his old friends are still kids, and it really makes the whole Rainbow Mist concept feel heavy for a filler arc

The way time just stops inside the mist is terrifying to me because Luffy could lose years of his life and not even notice until it is too late

Watching the Pumpkin Pirates still acting like children after fifty years stuck inside that mist is so bittersweet and it makes the Rainbow Mist feel like a proper ghost story. I usually skip filler but Robin getting to be an actual archeologist for once makes it worth staying for especially with how the crew got split up

That flicking guy has the most random attack style but it somehow works for a bunch of kids living in a ship graveyard

Having Robin use her historian brain to figure out the mist legends, even if it is filler, makes the whole island mystery feel a lot more interesting

I think the idea of those kids staying young for fifty years while Henzo got old is actually super depressing

Robin stayed so calm while being surrounded by aggressive kids in that creepy ship graveyard and it was hilarious compared to the others panicking

The name Pumpkin Pirates is actually pretty cute for a bunch of kids lost in time and their interaction with the Straw Hats feels natural for a filler episode

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 140 is the second chapter of the filler Ruluka Island Arc, following Episode 139's introduction of the Rainbow Mist and the crew's arrival at Ruluka Island. It deepens the mystery of the mist and formally introduces the Pumpkin Pirates, setting up the emotional and narrative stakes for the arc's remaining episodes. As a filler arc, none of these events connect to the manga storyline, which resumes with the Jaya Arc afterward.
