Tension rises as CP0, led by Rob Lucci, makes their move. Luffy’s carefree attitude contrasts sharply with the looming danger, creating a thrilling tone.

The scenes of people reading the newspapers about the Straw Hats felt a bit slow and took away from the tension but it did show how the government is trying to control the narrative

Bonney looking up at her dad while he prepares to destroy Saturn is a scene that perfectly captured why Kuma is the best father in the series

There is something so haunting about Kuma moving without a soul and just walking through entire fleets of ships just to reach his daughter because his instincts are stronger than any government programming

My heart broke seeing that little sun necklace again and realizing it was a gift from a man who was about to lose everything just to keep his daughter safe from that disease

Watching Kizaru sit there with his face covered makes you wonder if he was the one who actually gave Luffy all that food, because someone had to do it while Saturn was talking
maki_maverick_137's avatar

The animation style shifted so much during the fight and Kuma looked like an absolute monster pushing through all those marine ships

Watching Bonney break down and lose her powers because her spirit was crushed by that monster makes you want to see Saturn get his face caved in even more than before

I can't even focus on the rest of the show after seeing Kuma finally make it to the island and stand in front of Saturn, because that flashback with Ginny and the sun necklace was just too much for me. It makes the ending cliffhanger so much better knowing everything Kuma went through just to give his daughter one last birthday message

You can really feel the regret in Vegapunk and even Kizaru looked like he was struggling with what was happening, and that yelling at Saturn for being a heartless scientist felt right

That transition to black and white for Kuma's punch felt exactly like when Luffy hit the celestial dragon at Sabaody and it was so satisfying

My heart broke when Bonney started crying because her faith in Nika was failing but then her dad showed up and saved her at the last second

Saturn is actually the worst for what he did to Ginny and Kuma finally standing between him and Bonney is the exact payback that monster deserved
meninas_486's avatar

You could really feel the intensity when Kuma was charging through the marine ships while literally falling apart just to reach Bonney and save her

I was fully expecting the episode to end right when the flashback finished, so seeing the anime actually push forward into the confrontation with Saturn was such a surprise. It made the whole thing hit so much harder and seeing Kuma standing there to protect Bonney after everything we learned about his life made that final fist windup feel totally earned

Seeing Bonney turn back into a kid while crying over her dad really hurt and then Kuma showed up to finally shut Saturn up with that punch

I thought the way Kuma walked through those cannons was terrifying and then seeing him finally wind up that punch against Saturn felt like he was finally fighting back for what happened to Ginny

Closing on that shot of Kuma about to land a massive hit on Saturn was the perfect way to wrap up his backstory and it felt like justice for every miserable thing he endured
arsyur's avatar

Saturn telling Bonney that she was just a failed experiment is the most evil thing and he deserves every bit of that kinetic energy punch Kuma is about to land

You really start to hate Saturn after hearing him talk about Ginny like she was just some experiment and seeing Bonney cry on the floor while he mocks her is actually sickening to watch

EPISODE CONTEXT

Following Episode 1136's deep dive into Kuma's tragic backstory, this episode pivots from reflection to confrontation, channeling all that accumulated emotional context into a present-day collision between Bonney and Saturn on Egghead Island. It serves as the critical bridge where personal history meets active conflict, raising the emotional and physical stakes simultaneously. The stage is now set for the broader Egghead escalation, with this episode locking in Bonney's motivations as a driving force for what comes next.
