The moment Kuma told Dragon he was done with the Revolutionary Army just to stay in a dark church with a sick baby was such a powerful shift

They really changed Bonney giving the finger to that weird arm grab and it feels so out of character for her even if the rest of the episode was soul crushing

Seeing Kuma punch that tree and just let out all that grief in the middle of the night was the most human thing in the whole episode

The way the Celestial Dragons treat people makes it so hard to watch this arc and seeing what they did to Ginny is actually stomach turning

Finding Ginny turned to blue stone on the floor of that church is an image that is going to stay with me for a very long time

Kuma lying to Bonney about her being cured at ten years old is the most heartbreaking thing because he just wants her to have some hope left

I can't even look at a Den Den Mushi without feeling sick after that final call from Ginny and Kuma running to the church only to find her already gone made me feel physically heavy

When Kuma forced that smile and did the Nika dance for Bonney, I could practically feel his internal struggle, and it just broke me imagining how much he wanted to stay with her forever.

Hearing Bonney say daddy for the first time while Kuma was just trying to hold it together actually broke my heart and I was not ready for that level of sadness today

I really wasn't prepared for how much the church scenes would mess with me, especially seeing Kuma try to be a dad while his world was falling apart and the way he just stepped up for Bonney without a second thought even though she isn't his biological kid says everything about him and that Sapphire Scale reveal is just cruel writing

The way Kuma realized Ginny was gone before he could even say goodbye felt so cruel and the animation during his flight to the kingdom really captured that desperation

Ginny dying alone in that church, without Kuma even getting to say goodbye, was just crushing. I felt this deep sadness for both of them, knowing how desperately he was trying to reach her and how she must've longed for him until the very end.

Dragon and Ivankov being so understanding about Kuma leaving the army to raise Bonney was a really nice touch for their friendship

Kuma just shattering that tree while weeping? man, I was genuinely floored; I never would've guessed he held that much raw anguish beneath his usual calm, terrifying presence. it makes me wonder what he's been through to build up such an impenetrable front.

Kuma lying to Bonney about her getting better at ten years old is such a heavy burden for him to carry while she just smiles so happily

I think my heart actually broke when Kuma found Ginny in that church and she was already gone and then he found the baby

King Bekori coming back at the end of the episode was such a punch in the gut after all the emotional trauma Kuma just went through and the guy just cannot catch a break

I cannot believe Kuma chose to lie and tell Bonney she would be cured at ten just so she could be happy for a little while longer

Everything was finally starting to feel peaceful with the village ladies helping Kuma raise Bonney and then king bekori has to show up and ruin everything with his ships

EPISODE CONTEXT

Directly following Episode 1131's exploration of Kuma and Ginny's bond, this installment pivots to the consequences of that relationship, marking Kuma's transition into fatherhood with Bonney's introduction. It serves as the emotional fulcrum of the Kuma flashback arc, transforming backstory into motivation. Episode 1133 escalates from here, shifting focus to the external threats Kuma must confront to protect his daughter.
