Luffy grabbing lightning and spinning it around like a skipping rope was actually unreal and the way he just laughs while doing it makes the whole gear five thing feel so much more unique than anything else

those lanterns floating up with all the wishes while the giant dragon duel happened above them was such a powerful contrast for the end of the raid

kaido using that flame dragon torch move was a huge surprise and the way the production showed the heat melting the top of the skull dome looked unreal

momo struggling with his memories of toki while trying to save the flower capital was such a heavy moment and seeing him finally create those clouds felt like a massive win

I think the moment that really got to me was when Luffy’s massive fist started burning against Kaido’s heat, but he still refused to let go because he believed in Momo. The way the episode balanced the goofy Gear 5 antics with the heavy emotional weight of Wano’s history felt special, and that final clash was easily the most impressive thing I've seen.

Kaido’s reaction to the ridiculous gear five powers was actually hilarious and it really highlighted how much luffy has broken the logic of their world

zumi_zephyr_498
luffy shouting about creating a world where his friends can eat as much as they want felt like the perfect summary of his entire character and why he fights
shishinki_255's avatar

I still can't get over Luffy using a lightning bolt as a jump rope and the way the visuals stayed so smooth while everything was exploding in the sky made the fight feel huge

the new opening theme fits the end of this arc perfectly and the circular animation style they used during the sequence looked really unique and polished

The transition from the silly sound effects of Gear 5 to the serious weight of Luffy’s final punch was handled really well, and it made the end of the fight feel earned.

Luffy literally using the air as a trampoline while Kaido tries to hit him is so funny and I love how the show is leaning into the cartoon logic

denjiro actually ending orochi was so satisfying for me since that guy has been a nightmare for way too long

Kaido turning into a literal sun made of fire was such a cool response to Luffy's giant fist, and seeing their haki clash like that shows why they are the strongest

It is about time Orochi is gone for good and Denjiro getting the final blow after being his spy for twenty years is the best way to handle that jerk

My heart actually hurt watching Momo cry over those flame clouds but Yamato dragging him by the face was the tough love he needed to move the island

The visual of Luffy holding a massive bolt of lightning like a toy is the most ridiculous thing this show has done and it fits Gear 5 perfectly

I love the new opening and how it uses all those circles and colors to show off the chaos of the raid because it feels so different from the usual stuff
chopper_champion_38's avatar

Denjiro finally taking that last head off Orochi was so satisfying because that guy just would not stay down and the fire everywhere made it look so intense
hawks_eye_387's avatar
hawks_eye_387
The way the sky cleared for miles once Luffy and Kaido finally clashed their haki was such a cool visual, and the sound of the thunder really made it feel like the world was breaking
ram_rage_145's avatar
ram_rage_145
I really felt for Momo when Yamato was screaming at him and grabbing his whiskers because the weight on that kid is just insane and he is technically an adult but mentally he is still just a child and seeing him find the strength to pull that entire island away while Luffy dropped the biggest fist ever was just incredible

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 1074 lands deep in the climax of the Wano Country arc, building directly on the escalating desperation of Episode 1073 as the battle atop Onigashima reaches a breaking point. Luffy's confrontation with Kaido and Momonosuke's character arc converge here, making this a critical narrative hinge. The episode sets the stage for the final decisive moments of one of One Piece's longest and most ambitious arcs.
