I still cannot believe Marco is just holding off King and Queen at the same time and he looks so cool doing it

Ace’s face when Whitebeard forbid him from going to Wano really got to me, like I could physically feel his frustration at being sidelined. It wasn't just about Ace wanting to fight, but I sensed a deep yearning in him to prove his strength and loyalty, even if it meant defying his captain, which made the 'no' even heavier.

Marco grabbing Zoro and chucking him toward the roof was a massive highlight because it shows how the veterans are clearing the path for the new guys

I still can't believe Marco is actually fighting King and Queen at the same time and he is totally holding his own while helping the samurai

My eyes were watering seeing Tama finally connect the dots about Luffy and Ace, and it makes the stakes feel so personal now. Marco stepping up to help Zoro while holding back the commanders is such a flex, too. I really hope the animation stays this clean for the next part because the roof fight is finally here and the world is in trouble

Marco using his flames to help the infected people while Queen just yelled at them from the balcony really showed the difference between a real leader and a tyrant

The way Marco threw Zoro up to the roof while clashing with King and Queen was some of the coolest action in the show so far. It really hits home how much the Whitebeard pirates still look out for the next era, and hearing the parallel between Luffy and Roger's dream through Yamato's eyes made the whole episode feel so special.

Nami holding Tama while she cried about Ace was such a soft moment and it makes me want to see them take down the Beast Pirates even more

I felt so many things when Ace talked about the next generation because it showed how much faith he had in his little brother even years ago

My heart broke for Yamato when she started crying over Luffy having the exact same dream as Roger, especially since she has Oden's journal to prove how big of a deal that is

The reveal about the Fish-Fish fruit was the highlight of the night because it explains so much about the history between those two monsters on the roof and you can really feel the tension building up for the big fight while they stand over the defeated samurai plus the scenes with Tama finding out about Ace and Luffy were absolutely devastating to watch

Tama's face when she finally put together that Luffy knew Ace just crushed me, and I can't imagine how devastating it must be for her to realize the promise she'd clung to for so long can never come true. It's such a bittersweet moment, seeing her hope turn to understanding of Ace's fate.

The reveal that Big Mom gave Kaido his devil fruit at God Valley explains why he feels so indebted to her and adds so much history to their alliance

Marco holding off both King and Queen at the same time proves he is still a monster and watching him launch Zoro toward the roof was such a great scene

Zoro getting a ride from a literal phoenix just to reach the roof is such a cool way to get him into the main fight and the animation looked so clean

It finally clicked for me why Big Mom and Kaido have such a weird bond after she mentioned giving him that mythical fruit at God Valley

Marco turning into the phoenix and flying Zoro up was such a cool visual and his powers look so good with the blue flames

Kaido's face when Big Mom casually brought up his massive debt? That look honestly made my stomach drop a little, reminding me just how incredibly dangerous and legendary the Rocks Pirates must have been. It really has me thinking about what kind of absolute madness went down for them to accumulate that kind of history, making their past even more mind-blowing.

Marco literally just chucked Zoro toward the roof and the guy better not find a way to get lost somehow

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming directly after Episode 1013's deep dive into Yamato's past and her emotional ties to Ace, Episode 1014 continues the Wano raid's pattern of weaving character backstory into the escalating Onigashima battle, this time through Marco's lens as a Whitebeard Pirate legacy carrier. The episode reinforces the alliance dynamics critical to the war's outcome while building emotional stakes before the conflict's next major escalations. It serves as connective tissue between earlier character-focused episodes and the high-intensity confrontations that follow.
