Wano Country Arc hits peak war mode in Episode 1015! The Straw Hats and their allies launch the Onigashima siege with massive scale, crew teamwork, and rising tension against Kaido’s forces. The animation and hype are pure One Piece greatness. 9.5/10

Probably one of the best episodes of the series. The art, the soundtrack, all the tension leading up to an epic moment makes this peak anime history.

The directing of this episode is my all time favorite! From Luffy's cold walk past Kaido and Big Mom to check up on Kinemon , and the transition between when they last met before the big battle to how they all are defeated now on the ground was sublime. And to top it all off ,the smooth animation of Luffy knocking down Kaido down the first time in the series!

One Piece Episode 1015 is peak fiction—Luffy’s rooftop arrival delivers pure goosebumps. His promise to Tama shows his growth as both captain and protector. Stunning direction, emotion, and payoff make this one of anime’s greatest episodes.

The direction during the flashback with the full moon and the sake barrels was so pretty. Seeing Yamato and Ace bond over Luffy's secret dream made the ending of their friendship feel even more tragic than before

My stomach dropped when I saw Yamato screaming in that cell because the Vivre Card turned to ash. I forgot how much it hurts to see Ace go and having to watch her react alone was brutal

I am still thinking about Yamato watching that paper burn and the scream really got to me because we finally saw how much that friendship meant

The parallel between Roger and Luffy shouting their dreams was handled so well, especially with that sketchy art style. You can see how the spirit is passed down through generations, and it made the prophecy feel real

The visual of all five of the Worst Generation standing on the roof against the two emperors is something that will stick with people. The lightning and the dark clouds made the atmosphere feel so oppressive

Ishitani direction during the Roger and Luffy parallel was unbelievable and the lighting alone made everything feel so heavy and important

I really felt for Yamato watching that tiny piece of paper burn away in her hand while she was stuck in those chains. Seeing Ace sail away was already sad enough, but then the realization that he was actually gone just destroyed me. It makes Luffy finally reaching that rooftop and landing that Red Roc punch feel so much more meaningful for her

I still can’t believe the way the colors changed when Ace was talking about Luffy and Roger having the same dream. It made me feel like I was watching something legendary and the animation was actually gorgeous

When Kinemon finally broke, openly weeping and begging Luffy to save Wano, it just crushed me to see him like that. I didn't even doubt Luffy for a second though; his firm grip on Kinemon's hand, and that quiet promise, told me he's not just a reckless pirate anymore, but a captain who truly shoulders the burden for his nakama now.

The way the music kicked in when the Red Roc hit Kaido was perfect and seeing the fire swirl around Luffy's fist like that looked incredible. Those colors were so bright and the impact felt huge

Luffy walking right past Kaido and Big Mom to check on Kinemon was the coldest thing ever. He didn't even look at them and you could tell he was just on a completely different level now

Luffy putting his hat back on after knocking Kaido down was the perfect way to end it. He looked so confident standing there and declaring he would become the Pirate King in front of two emperors

Everything about Luffy checking on Kinemon before even looking at the emperors was so respectful and that Red Roc explosion looked so good in that new style

Luffy walking right past Kaido and Big Mom to check on Kinemon was the coldest thing he has ever done and it showed how much he respects the samurai

Luffy's Red Roc landing on Kaido had me screaming at my screen, it felt like ages since we'd seen him properly connect like that. The sheer power in that punch and the way the fire erupted honestly made me think of Ace's attacks, and it was just so satisfying.

The visual style during that sketch sequence where Roger and Luffy were saying their dream made it feel like a fairy tale and the colors were so bright

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned at a critical inflection point in the Wano Country arc, Episode 1015 follows the reflective, Whitebeard Pirates-focused Episode 1014 and pivots decisively toward the rooftop battle on Onigashima. It bridges character backstory — particularly Yamato's motivations — with the escalating confrontation against the arc's most powerful adversaries. This episode sets the emotional and narrative foundation for the intense combat stretch that follows, making it essential viewing for everything Wano builds toward.
