Episode Context

Coming off episode 2's exploration of Rikuo's internal conflict over his human and yōkai sides, this third episode expands the cast and stakes by planting Yura Keikain directly in his everyday world, a move that complicates his ability to keep both lives separate. The formation of the Kiyojuji Paranormal Patrol creates a recurring group dynamic that will drive much of the season's school-side storytelling. With the next episode titled 'The Rat of Darkness Devours the Cat,' this lighter setup clearly precedes a shift into darker, more action-oriented territory.
