I was totally into the lore about the seal case actually doing something useful against the demons because the world building is surprisingly deep for something this old

Miko and her sister just feel like they are losing every single fight and it gets annoying seeing them get overpowered by every random butterfly demon that shows up in this part

The Mahoroba demons are actually pretty terrifying villains because of how they target Miko and her sister at the same time to get that seal case. I liked seeing the Shikima world lore expand a bit more in this chapter, even if most people are just watching for the action scenes. That ending where they talk about conquering the universe felt earned

I think the way the Mahoroba demons use those butterfly wings to trap Miko is so cool and the animation on the transformations actually looks better than the first episode

The plot about the Shikima Brain feels a bit rushed and Miko getting caught so easily by those butterfly people made me roll my eyes even if the art is nice

Miko is such a great lead and her using her powers against the Shikima monsters in the forest really showed her strength

The classic vibe of this series is so strong, and seeing Miko struggle against the Mahoroba demons really brings back memories of the older OVAs, and the whole search for the Shikima Brain feels like a big step up for the stakes since they want to rule the universe and Miko is the only thing standing in their way right now

The way the Mahoroba keep targeting Miko and her sister is intense and that cliffhanger about the Shikima Brain leaves everyone wondering what happens next

The part where Miko had to protect the seal case was intense for me because those butterfly demons were actually pretty scary and the transformation scenes were cool

The art for the butterfly demons is such a throwback and Miko getting cornered by them was the best part of the whole episode

The animation dipped so hard during the fight for the seal case and the plot with the butterfly girls felt way too rushed compared to the original series

Nin nin is kind of annoying in this one and the pacing felt a bit slow until the Shikima Brain stuff finally got mentioned again

The Mahoroba butterfly demons look so creepy and seeing them try to take the seal case from Miko makes the stakes feel way higher than the first chapter

Watching Miko and her sister deal with the Mahoroba plot was great for me, and I thought the way they tied in the Shikima Brain lore actually made sense

I really like the way Miko handles the Mahoroba demons this time and her spirit is just so tough even when she gets caught in those traps

I thought seeing the dream man die right after Miko loses her virginity to him was a total gut punch and it felt so cruel, he gave her that power up just to get taken out immediately by the Mahoroba, and now she has to carry that weight while protecting the seal case and her sister from those butterfly demons

Miko getting a power boost after that specific scene was a weird writing choice but it fits the series style

Those butterfly demons are definitely winning this round, and seeing miko lose control of the situation while trying to protect her sister was a pretty heavy moment

EPISODE CONTEXT

Following Episode 1's opening confrontation, this second chapter directly escalates the conflict surrounding the Shikima Brain, putting Miko and her allies under increasing pressure from the Mahoroba clan. Positioned at the halfway point of the four-episode arc, it serves as the series' turning point — widening the scope of the struggle while setting up the more climactic confrontations expected in Episodes 3 and 4.
