The decision to ignore the protagonist is a bold choice and it makes the yuri vibes way stronger

Getting to watch Kan'u deal with everyone hitting on her since I expected Musashi to be the lead was such a trip and this all girl adventure was a nice surprise

It is definitely weird seeing a Three Kingdoms story without a male lead but Kan'u carries the episode well on her own. The show feels like fluff and the way the girls interact makes it clear this is more about comedy than history. It is just amusing nonsense with solid character designs and constant yuri teasing between everyone in the group.

I did not expect this gender swap stuff to actually be funny but Chohi is already my favorite and her energy is hilarious

You might go in for the girls but the fight scenes are actually pretty decent and fluid for this kind of show

Returning to the village felt so nostalgic at first, but the shift into supernatural horror is a total shock. Musashi is surrounded by these four girls who seem perfect, but there is clearly something wrong with their eyes. That scene where he finds the old charms really set the tone and now the entire mystery of the village is wide open

the way the girls just stared at him when he mentioned the old shrines was so unsettling and the art really captured that eerie feeling well

musashi trying to remember his past only to find out the village is cursed was a massive pivot and the art style makes it feel extra haunting

i was just expecting some generic stuff but then the ghost stuff started happening and it actually scared me a little bit

it started out like a normal reunion but then the vibes got so heavy once they reached the outskirts of the village and the mystery is actually decent

those girls are way too obsessed with musashi and that one scene with the hidden cellar really changed the vibe of the house

musashi coming back and finding out everyone has these weird powers is such a sharp turn from the romance stuff and that one part in the forest felt so dark

The animation for the older style actually holds up well, especially when the supernatural stuff starts happening in the village

those girls showing their true side made my skin crawl and i did not expect the supernatural twist to hit that fast

I think that scene in the woods was so creepy and the girls acting all weird around Musashi really creeped me out

You have to wonder how Musashi forgot four beautiful girls like that for so long because the way the episode hints at a supernatural reason for his forgetfulness is interesting and those character designs really popped during the reunion scenes

The transition from the childhood flashbacks to Musashi seeing them as adults was super smooth and seeing how much they changed while he just stood there looking confused was interesting since it felt like he missed out on so much

Those supernatural hints in the village background definitely look strange and you can tell something is very wrong with this place despite all the girls acting so sweet

That blonde girl has a design that looks exactly like my type, but the weird vibes from the village elders had me feeling a bit creeped out between the spicy scenes

Musashi being so clueless about those girls was actually hilarious and the way they all just jumped on him the second he walked into the village really set the tone since the art really made those reunion scenes look great

EPISODE CONTEXT

This is the first of two total episodes, making it the series' foundational chapter — responsible for establishing characters, supernatural context, and romantic dynamics that the concluding episode will resolve. Nothing precedes it, so this episode carries the full burden of setup. Episode 2, 'Tales of Love' presumably continued, will serve as the payoff to everything introduced here.
