The problem served in this episode might seemed small, but for a teen, especially one such as Asa, who is currently still trying to heal and find herself, the load felt double the weight. I really like how it was resolved too, it was nice especially knowing the problem's root.

Asa being a teenager and finding herself in the midst of all the adults' expectations and Makio struggling with different responsibilities in adulthood is something that is also happening in real life and I like that they tackled that fact in this episode. Love the development.

Really insightful about this ep is how it recognizes that the emotion process of grief happens alongside other emotional ones. Absolute masterclass character interactions was showed and also a sparking romance doesn't quite buried yet. Potential brewing of something warm in air.

Asa’s mother continues to haunt the narrative as Asa and Makio take a trip down memory lane. The weight of adulthood and guardianship resting on Makio’s shoulders and Asa's struggle to find her own path without her mom’s support are both so sad. The ending is sweet, though!

The character interactions are doing serious work in this episode. Adults have their own lives, teenagers behave like teenagers. It's like they became a real family at the end <3

I can relate with Asa's conflicting emotions regarding what she can and cannot do at that age and circumstance. Having one parent who is very involved in making decisions for you and then suddenly being allowed to do anything you want by your new one can come with some struggles.

Another strong episode. This one really delves into how both Makio and Asa feel about their parents. Makio says that she wants to protect the version of her sister that Asa remembers, but Asa’s feelings are more complicated than Makio realizes.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off Episode 4's tentative steps toward coexistence, 'Decide' pushes both Asa and Makio past surface-level adjustment into deeper internal conflict. Positioned just past the season's first third, this episode transitions the series from establishing its premise to interrogating its characters' emotional foundations. It lays critical groundwork for the relationship developments and personal reckonings that will define the season's back half.
