The Weight of Obsession
The episode opens with the almost mythical lore of Hokuto Shinken, an ancient, deadly art. Then, in a stark, pillared hall, Kenshiro and Shin finally stand opposed. Kenshiro speaks, his voice steady, telling Shin that the obsession Shin imposed upon him has forged him anew. He grips Shin’s arm, and Shin, for the first time, feels the true force of Kenshiro's changed power.
Shin's Desperate Strikes
Shin, still arrogant despite the warning, lunges into a whirlwind of strikes, forcing Kenshiro to defend. His blades carve deep gashes into Kenshiro's chest, leaving a cross-like wound over the existing scars. Shin mocks Kenshiro's style, claiming the South Star is supreme. Kenshiro watches his own blood drip, utterly still.
The Rai-Shin-Sho Attack
Kenshiro declares he has seen through all Shin's moves, igniting a furious rage in Shin. Shin charges again, but Kenshiro evades his every strike with chilling ease. Frantic, Shin channels a massive energy, unleashing his ultimate 'Rai-Shin-Sho' palm strike. The palace explodes, and Shin, laughing maniacally, believes his rival is dead.
Kenshiro's Ruthless Advance
The smoke clears to reveal Kenshiro standing untouched, his steady march beginning again. Two of Shin's bodyguards attempt an ambush, but Kenshiro dispatches them with cold precision. One is struck down with a single backhand, the other suffers a pressure point attack that causes his head to grotesquely swell and burst. Bat turns away, sickened, as Kenshiro stops before a terrified Shin.
The Doll Revelation
Kenshiro demands Yuria back. Shin, with a desperate laugh, points to a figure on a throne, a still, blank-faced Yuria. Then, in a moment of shocking cruelty, Shin strikes her through the chest. Kenshiro's scream fills the hall as Yuria goes limp. He is frozen, devastated by what he believes is her death.
Kenshiro's Full Fury
Kenshiro's grief explodes into a primal roar, his aura shredding his clothes as his chest scars glow. He vows Shin will die. The two clash in a blur, but now Kenshiro's movements are fueled by pure rage, overwhelming Shin. Kenshiro catches Shin's arm, breaks his bones, then delivers a devastating knee. He parries Shin’s most advanced techniques with ease, before finally striking Shin’s pressure points, shattering his hands. Kenshiro unleashes 'Hokuto Juuji Sou-Geki,' a torrential cross-formation of punches that sends Shin crashing into a pillar, broken and dying.
Yuria's Tragic Choice
Kenshiro tells the dying Shin he has one minute left. Kenshiro rushes to Yuria, only to discover she is a doll, a wooden replica. Shin chuckles, explaining he could never truly win her heart. A flashback shows Shin showering Yuria with gifts, building a city for her, only for Yuria to reject it all. She tells him her heart belongs to Ken. Yuria, resolute, then steps off a balcony, choosing death over a life with Shin, a choice that sends Shin into madness.
Shin's Last Act
Shin's voice is a whisper as he finishes his confession, confirming Yuria chose death for Kenshiro. Kenshiro's rage has given way to pity. Shin, using his last strength, drags himself to the same balcony Yuria fell from. He looks out over his burning city. Kenshiro watches as Shin falls backward, choosing suicide over dying by Hokuto Shinken, calling Kenshiro's name one last time as he vanishes into the abyss.
A Grave in the Ruins
News of Shin's death ripples through Southern Cross, freeing its enslaved citizens. Kenshiro is then shown digging a simple grave for Shin amidst the palace ruins. Bat questions this act of honor for a cruel man. Kenshiro explains simply: despite everything, they both shared a genuine love for Yuria. He then walks away, back into the wasteland, a solitary figure against the setting sun.
