Just as Spade prepares to fire, Kenshiro leaps from the cliff, landing between Misumi and the bandits. The sudden appearance startles them, but they quickly surround him. Kenshiro warns Spade he is a master of Hokuto Shinken, rendering a crossbow useless. Spade fires anyway, but Kenshiro catches the bolt with two fingers, then flings it back with devastating force. The bolt strikes Spade in his right eye, causing him to scream in agony.

The bandits flee, and Kenshiro helps Misumi to his feet. Bat questions why Misumi risked so much for seeds instead of eating them. Misumi looks towards the horizon, describing a vision of golden fields where children never go hungry. The bandits storm the village, setting houses ablaze and cutting down anyone in their path. Spade stands amidst the carnage, demanding Misumi and the seeds, reveling in the destruction he has caused.

Misumi tries to hide, clutching the seeds, but Spade finds him. Spade mocks his desperate attempts, kicking him to the ground. As Kenshiro arrives, he sees Spade plunge a knife into Misumi's back. Misumi falls, the seeds scattering, and with his last breath, he gestures towards them. Spade stomps on the spilled seeds, grinding the village's hope into the blood-stained earth. The silence is broken only by Kenshiro's low, guttural growl of absolute rage.
