Hell Girl

This was a great ending to this season. We see the closure for Hajime and Tsugumi plot, and (Maybe) also for Ai. It feels a bit bittersweet, leaning to the sweeter side. But what made it great was the swing of the mood, as they pull out all the stops for the horror, especially during the Tsugumi with Ai scenes. And that aftercredit might allude to the next season too. Overall a great season for Jigoku Shoujo!

The episode was tense. 😰 How much pressure that kid went through. 😓 Although I feel sad for Ai. 💔 Overall - 9/10. ⭐️

his was a phenomenal episode as we see for ourselves how Ai and Sentarou was raised and what came to be between them. This was a very bitter episode, now we know why Ai reacted the way she is, not just from words alone, but also get to feel it first hand. personally can't blame Sentarou fully too, not when both of them were kids, being pushed by adults. The song that Ai and Sentaro sang feels haunting now, especially during that moment when Ai sang it alone. This is a great episode, now I'm curious about the finale.

The episode focuses on Ai and Sentaro's backstory. 😢 It has an emotional plot that makes me angry. 😡🤯 Overall — sad and heavy. 9/10.

This episode hands down my favorite, except if the last two has better writing than this. We finally explored Ai's backstory, and it left my jaw on the floor. I really like how it tied with the ghostly appearance of the boy, and why Tsugumi has a connection with Ai all this time. I feel why Ai act the way she did, feeling like her mask broken in some way. And this episode ended in a cliffhanger, which made me very excited for the next one too!

This episode, we followed Hajime and Tsugumi to a hospital. This particular episode drove the question that Hajime and Tsugumi has been debating about, whether it's ethical or not to use the hell site for revenge. I like the moral ambiguity of it all, even when this episode paints a clear picture, but at the end, the answer seemed to still be inconclusive. But that ending made me rose a brow, because there's a name we haven't heard before. Now I'm intrigued and ready for the next episode.

We finally get Hajime's backstory, which also meant Tsugumi's by proxy. I did not expect their backstory to be this heartbreaking, but it is. I feel like the main revenge plot tied up nicely as it felt more incorporated to the main plot of this episode, which is about Hajime and Tsugumi. But the mystery about Enma got thicker as we open Hajime up. Hoping the next episode we'll get to see other charaters as well!

I really like this episode. For the first time, Hajime went right to the person that visited the hell site, maybe it was because he talked to so many of them by now, or maybe because this particular one had known him for some time, either way I do like the variant than the one before. There's also the thought of not going through with the deal, which is interesting in and of itself. Still, I do like this episode, even though the plot is a bit meh, but other than that, I like it, especially another showing of how much Hajime cares for Tsugumi.

Finally, some solid progress in the main storyline! 🚀 The Spider scene was a bit too creepy—definitely had a Hell Girl vibe. 😱👻 Overall - 9/10! 👍✨

Persoanlly I find this episode underwhelming, despite everything surrounding it being great. The plot of this one doesn't seem that serious, especially with how Watanabe acted almost like a constant comic relief. But the thing surrounding it made the mystery of Enma Ai thicker, with what she's seeing, and what Gilles kept saying about hell, all gave more depth to the story to explore. I wanted to like this episode more than I do, but I can't.

This one is a creepier episode, with us following a new bride getting into a family of doll maker. I really feel for Inori, having to silently suffer, even when the door back to safety is right there, almost like she was groomed to fail, makes this episode sad. But the dolls, and the mother in law take the creepiness up a notch, I'll give props to the character designer for this one. I do miss exploring unanswered question in this series, as they had put some seeds but the pacing makes it long for the answer to show, Hoping for breadcrumbs in the next episode!

This one felt awful to watch, seeing a little girl getting manipulated, and basically abused, is disheartening. But what I like about this episode, it brings out the question whether the hell site is even that bad to begin with, especially with the target, as seen so far, do deserve what's coming to them. I like how Tsugumi has a different way of thinking than Hajime, but again, seeing from the people who primarily uses the site, it feels like a childish way to solve problem. But I do wonder where the author will bring this topic to, can't wait for more!

Finally, Hajime did it. 🎉 The ending is sad but good. 😢 But I'm losing hope for the main story; it's very frustrating. 😤✨ Overall - emotional, 8/10. 🌟

This was a fun episode, something I never thought could happen. We get to follow the journalist, which now I had remember his name is Hajime, and Tsugumi to a hospital. This episode is definitely more tense than before, and the writing of Nina made my heart wrenched and scared at the same time. I like the subtlety of Tsugumi already have bad feeling from the start. I do wonder why Enma act the way she does, I hope the story will elaborate on that later down the line.

This episode is okay, with the plot bringing us to a circus. The animation could be better for this one, considering we're brought to a circus. Beside that, I do like the plot, even when, once again, the plot twist is a bit predictable. But what I find fun was Enma Ai's companion who is trying to sabotage the journalist, which come really close this time around. Since we're past the half way point, I do wonder if we ever going to get development from the Enma or her companions.

The episode was interesting! 😊 Hajime sends a message to Hell Girl. The main story seems to be progressing. Overall - Challenge, 9/10. 👍🔟

This one is interesting. Despite the plot itself feels cliche, with the whole couple trying to escape the aunt, it's very tense. The aunt's VA definitely needs her own shout out as she delivered her lines very menacing. And maybe because the danger feels real, with us shown people do get hurt, that ending felt like a relief, at least for me, Beside that, as I said before, the journalist seemed to slowly get closer, which is a great counter to the hell link main plotline itself. I really enjoy this episode!

The dilema of revenge but at the cost of others. This one episode really hits home with its theme, with how Saki and the journalist seemed to be at odds with their believes, almost like feeling vs logic. On one hand, it's understandable why Saki did what she did, but on the other, the Journalist was also not wrong. I feel like this episode could go another route in another life, but this one has to go as such. The ending made the bitter feeling much worse too.
