Episode Context

As Episode 1 of 24, this is pure foundation, no prior events to reference, only the architecture being laid for everything that follows. Albert's fateful encounter with the Count at Luna's Carnival is the inciting relationship the entire series pivots on, making this arguably the single most consequential episode of the season. It leads directly into Episode 2, 'Until the Sun Rises on the Moon,' where the bonds formed here begin pulling characters toward darker and more complicated territory.
