The second episode offers more of what the first did: Exposition! Watching Last Encore feels like reading a visual novel, which really isn't good, because it's an anime, isn't it? The only good part is seeing Red Saber... be herself, in and out of the fanservice bath scene.

The animation is good but the main character seems a bit dull for me, I do hope there will be like a character development. Sorry but I still don't get any feels for this anime.

This episode itself shows the main character's personalities as being hopeless and nonchalant. The bond between Saber and Hakuno isn't being developed yet. The fighting scene is cliffhanging, but the series is slowly progressing.

One thing that stands out in this episode is definitely Saber and the visuals. Saber brings some needed energy to the bland protagonist, questionable plot, and confusing world. The characters talk and explain a lot, but you still can’t understand what’s going on

If you don't have any idea what the Fate series is about and you first watched this series, you won't understand what's happening. The sudden location shifts and so many terminologies makes it hard for me to keep up. Also the fanservice can't really carry the anime.

More exposition dumps that somehow make things even more confusing instead of clearing anything up. The Dead Face reveal at the end is supposed to be this big dramatic moment but I literally do not care about Hakuno enough for it to land. Shinji showing up as this floor master villain is whatever, and the whole structure of climbing floors feels like a video game tutorial that never ends.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Skip this episode unless Red Saber's chaotic energy and strong visuals compensate for its confusing plot, excessive exposition, and bland protagonist Hakuno.
